Premium Filter, Octave, and Distortion FX for Your Guitar or Bass

Source Audio poured their extensive filter design expertise into the Spectrum Intelligent Filter, an incredibly powerful stereo filter pedal that delivers stunning envelope sounds to your guitar or bass rig. Packing premium envelope filter effects inspired by legendary pedals, Spectrum includes raunchy distortion as well as synth-like octave and envelope phaser options that turn it into a fully integrated, self-contained jam/funk machine. Spectrum's six meticulously crafted factory patches give you instant plug-and-play gratification. And when you're in the mood to dive deeper into sound design, connect Spectrum to Source Audio's Neuro Desktop Editor (free download for Mac and Windows) or Neuro Mobile App (free download for iOS and Android), and the sky's the limit.

Simple out of the box, deep under the hood

Out of the box, the Spectrum Intelligent Filter was designed to deliver an effortless plug-and-play experience with instant access to sounds inspired by some of the most rare and iconic envelope filter FX pedals. But Spectrum also goes deeper with an arsenal of jaw-dropping synth-like distorted octave and envelope phaser sounds. The pedal's ALT button turns Spectrum's 4-knob layout into eight distinct parameter controls.

Dial in the perfect envelope response via Spectrum's Input Gain, Sensitivity, and Speed controls. Want slow, smooth envelope movement while you dig into the strings? Or perhaps a fast-modulating filter that responds quickly to light picking — Spectrum does it all. The Frequency, Resonance, Depth, and Mix controls give you fine control over the color and character of your filter effects. Source Audio's Spectrum is one of the most comprehensive filter effects pedals we've gotten our hands on at Sweetwater. Whatever your sonic desires, Spectrum is ready to oblige.

Source Audio Spectrum Intelligent Filter Features:

  • 6 envelope filter presets: vintage sounds that include effects inspired by the legendary Mu-Tron and Lovetone Meatball pedals, as well as contemporary envelopes with octave-down effects and synth-like tones
  • Tweak 8 different parameters with 4 knobs

  • Alternate controls (available via ALT button) include Envelope Sensitivity, Wet/Dry Mix, Resonance, and Output volume

Reviews

You want it? You got it
Hear a filter sound you like? It's in this pedal. It sounds good out of the box but give it the respect it deserves and get in there and get your hands dirty. It's editor is pretty much endless, and goes from classic p-funk all the way to nasty unexplored growly octave sweeps. It's a winner, this one.

Music background: Are used to play in a band,I just play for myself now
One of a kind!
There are a lot of good filter type pedals out here but the spectrum sets itself apart from the crowd. Watch some demos on YouTube or on Sweetwater and see for yourself. This pedal works and sounds amazing... a dream for stirring creativity. Truly inspiring!

Initial impressions
This review is initial impressions as I have only had pedal for a short time. I got this pedal to replace an EH Bassballs that I was underwhelmed with. Right out of the box I like the three presets. This has made this three pedals in one, which is why I like my MXR Chorus deluxe.
I am having mixed emotions on the ability to tweak the settings via app software. I feel like I may get lost in tweaking overload. But once I find those three sounds and set them I'll be good.
The pedal feels sturdy and well built. There is so much flexibility that you definitely get some bang for your buck. It's got me looking at the other pedals they offer.
My initial response is I would definitely recommend this pedal
Intelligent engineering
Primarily an envelope filter pedal, it offers so much more. Being its secondary function, the octave sound it offers is a match for any expensive pedal out there. You want to emulate the Lefebvre octaver? No problem. The legendary OC-2? You got it. In order to get the most of this pedal, however, you have to be a MIDI enthusiast and dive into some tweaking but it really isn't so complicated. I have to say that even the factory presets are very good and have a natural response, no weird plasticky noise or unwanted distortion. Very warm, natural sound, and this is true for any of the Source Audio pedals as I now own three.
