Turn Your Shell Mount into a Suspension Mount!

Are you looking to get more resonance from a mounted tom? Then remove your heavy shell hardware and upgrade to the lightweight, low-profile Gibraltar SC-USS Universal Suspension Tom Mount. We think this product is pretty ingenious. It reuses your existing hardware, so there's nothing additional to buy. Remove your shell mount, screw it to the outside of the plate, then install the Gibraltar SC-USS under two of your tension rods. This gets that hardware off your shell and gets you one step closer to a singing tom tone. Mounting points adjust to fit 8-14" toms. Sweetwater was pleased to see the inclusion of a rubber shell protector, which keeps your shell from contacting the metal mount.

I noticed how resonant this little rack tom was when I had it off the kit for cleaning and tune up (Ludwig breakbeats 7 x 10) I thought maybe it was the room I was in, but after putting it on the kit it it sounded like usual, a little lifeless and muted.So I went down the rabbit hole concerning isolation mounts and came across this on on the Sweetwater app and ordered one.I wasn't sure about this mount and how effective any rims mount aperatus would be or just money down the drain.
Well, it works and it works well!
You have to fully assemble the mount out of the box. Don't fret none, as this process is very easy to complete.
Tossed it on the kit and the resonance is absolutely noticeable.
Highly recommended, your results may vary.

Thought you were in for a bad review, well I apologize to steer you wrong. This is a gem to have when you have a kit thrown together of different sizes in everything. This is gonna help step up the game all together. It also works on snares so if you have a rack and want to make more floor room. Also this on your snare and put it in your rack. A lot of you don't know Gibraltar bought RIMMS when they went out of business. This Gibraltar version works great. I used them on my Rototoms. Made for a perfect set up.

I recently got a Tama 14x10 Duo Birch snare. Didn't like it sitting to the left of my hi-hat or left of the floor tom. So I got 2 of these Gibraltar suspension mounts. For this drum and my existing 13x10 rack tom. I was concerned because of the weight of the drum and it only attaches to 2 tension rods. It works great. Have played 2 gigs and many hours testing the exact setup I wanted, and they have not moved. No sign of any stress on the tension rods. But most important, I like having there. Easy to flip the snares on/off to use as a snare or a tom. (The black curved thing is a bean filled mute I flip on when using as a snare. Wife made it!)

This is a great mount. It is easy to set up and holds my 13in. mij tom securely. A Yamaha tom mount attached to it perfectly so I could use it with a Yamaha tom arm. The drum sounds much better now than when I had it mounted on a stand. I expected a good product from Gibraltar, and I got it. The competition did not stock this item, but Sweetwater had me covered. Rock on.
