Reviews

Nice product
You could pay a lot more for a competing product, but may not to quantify any difference in terms of value vs quality. Several competitors offer a few more bells & whistles, but for my money it does more that I need & is user friendly.

I like it
Having used a boogie 400 plus and ampeg flip top for over 30yrs.... both on the fritz at the moment. I'm tired of sending my heads off to be repaird every few yrs and carrying heavy amps into venues. This sounds pretty ampeg flip top and svt authentic. Much easier showing up with a pedalboard and bass when backline is provided. The real thing is cooler but this does the job just fine and I doubt the audience notices a difference.
Music background: Hard rock, Classic country, classic blues
The missing Link
I got one for Xmas and couldn't be more pleased with it. Love it love it love it. My tone feels complete with this on my pedalboard
Great bass pre-built like a tank
First, let me say a little bit about the build quality of this preamp. I came home late the other night, and didn't see the Sweetwater box sticking out from behind my garbage can and I proceeded to run the box over. The outside box was crushed, and the inside box was crushed and I seem to have run over right where the button was. There was no exterior damage and the pedal functioned perfectly fine so that's all I gotta say about the build quality. You can run it over with a car and it'll work fine!
Now about sound quality. I played a lot live bass when I was young, now, mostly in the studio until recently. I'm looking to get a live direct rig and I've tried several preamps that really didn't do a lot for me. I own a trace Elliot, elf 110 which while very light and loud is a bit lifeless. Plugging this into it brings it to life and the versatility of the preamp is amazing. I am not an SVT guy because I missed that whole 6070s era playing in loud rock and roll bands so I can't speak to the quality of the SVT sound. But I can attest after years in the studio that this thing is incredibly versatile, and goes from really mellow to really biting and everything in between. Very easy to dial in and the sounds are warm and organic. It's a keeper and I'll leave it on all the time. If you're trying other preamps, don'tmess around, just go to the source. This is it.

VT Bass Di
I really like this pedal. I haven't tried it in band practice but jamming in my home where volume is an issue. This pedal gets a great tube sound at low volume. But nothing can replace an all tube bass head but this pedal is still great!
