Reviews

The Sound of Simplicity
Ive have my eye on this pedal for quite some time, but took awhile to pull the trigger on it because I have a Moogerfooger phaser and the Red Witch moon phaser. Both of these are wonderful phasers with different sounds and practicalities. The whirlwind just sound so good and is so easy to get a great sound out of Ive fallen in love with it. I have owned the regular block phase 90 and the whirlwind is everything, imo, that the block phase 90 wasn't for me. For one, it just blends a whole lot better with the tone of your guitar. Its there, but its in the right place in the mix. The other big plus is it doesn't do the distorted thing that the block phase 90 did, it just seemed like the phase 90 didn't have the right amount of head room, so it does this crushing sort of thing at its peak that did not vibe with the sound I wanted. Some people may like the block Phase 90 as an effect and it is definitely more prominent, but I like my phase to be smooth, creamy and just right, and this pedal definitely delivers that right tone and feel for this kind of phaser pedal. It's more a set it and forget it box, I have it running in the beginning of my chain and it just sounds lovely.
Sweet
Super creamy, vintage phase tones!
Definitely all I hoped it would be.
Put it in front of yer marshall and, bam!
Now you know what was missin from that EVH tone you are looking for.
But it is so much more.
Super cool looks and packaging.
Excellent!
Music background: Hillbilly rock and roller
Great addition to my pedal board!
I never took to phaser pedals until I got this one. In a band with another guitar and he was blown away by it. Great for added texture on leads and arpeggios. I don't use many pedals but this one's staying for a while. Very cool!
Best Phaser I've Used
Best Phaser I've ever used! Clean sounding and true bypass. Better than the mxr I used to own. I've owned this for a couple of years now and it has never once given me an issue. Super reliable and no noise. Works great before distortion or overdrive for a more vintage tone, and works great after distortion for some serious wooshing. It doesn't alter your tone. It gets you those 70s phasing tones perfectly and some crazy warbles too. The LED is bright and the build quality is great. Comes with a nice box and pouch too. I recommend it to anyone. Worth the money
This is an exceptionally good 1-knob phaser
If you are after a single-knob phaser, then this one is awesome. I use it more than I thought I ever would. The effect blends so nicely. In my opinion, without the ability to adjust the depth, level and other parameters that multi-knob phasers would allow, the Whirlwind phaser is set about as perfect as can be. It is thick but not too thick. It has depth but not overly so. It does not change the volume when engaged. Sounds so beautiful on clean of course, and it is badass with distortion.

I use this into a distortion box with a clean amp. Perfect. I also tried it on my son's rig, where I put it in front of an amp using amp distortion. Again, perfect. Then I tried it in an effects loop. In that case the effect was reduced some in intensity, but musically still awesome. This is one of those pedals that sounds good on a variety of setups. I guess frequency effects in general probably have that property. True bypass! I only buy effects with true bypass anymore, so worth it. A keeper. Looks nice too.
