One of the best practice pads ever- the double rubber constructions allows for a medium tensioned head feeling making a real feel sensation.

Love the pad. I have an Evan's Real Feel as well. Similar feel. However, I like the slightly larger size and the fact it is round. The raised edge is the real reason I bought this one. Being able to simulate rim shots and cross sticking is important to me. The pad is well made.

Bottom line up-front: Played for over 30 years, and professionally for about 14. Now I'm a composer/producer/mixer and really only play anymore when recording. I've owned multiple old black Ludwig mutes, 80s Remo pads, and VATER practice pads throughout the years. Pulled the trigger on the 12" PROLOGIX BLACKOUT. Very impressive. Gives you a great workout - much better than beating on a pillow. Then, bought the 10.75" Method pad (Green/Vortex). Gives a concert snare feel on the Green side and a Marching snare rebound on the Vortex side. Impressed again! Then ordered the 12" Red medium-resistance pad. This is my favorite as it feels more like a properly torqued snare drum for a drum kit. Anyway, these pads are incredible, made in the USA and ..love the smell of them too lol. (You'll see what I mean) Just grab the red one and enjoy. It's heaven.

Bought for my son and myself - both beginners - as a learning tool. Very well built, solid, and expect it to last a long time. I like the added rim to simulate rim shots and the red (for me) provides the right level of feedback/resistance/etc. I also like how it's reversible - the other side adds a different tone and feel which is nice. I watched a lot of videos before choosing the ProLogix and don't regret it. Would buy again without hesitation. (Check the color ratings to ensure you are getting the right resistance for whatever your outcome is)

The idea of dual density surface is amazing. The feel is absolut perfect. More realistic than most practice pads.
