A Small Yet Efficient IR Loader

The NUX Pulse is an impulse response loader designed for gigging musicians seeking compact options for direct-to-PA sound with their analog rigs. The Pulse comes preloaded with eight cabinet simulations each for electric guitar and bass guitar and eight IRs that replicate various acoustic guitars — all accessible within three different modes. Sweetwater’s gigging musician population values the flexibility of using the same Pulse pedal in different rigs of theirs, from playing fiery rock solos in their cover bands to acoustic gigs at the local coffee shop. Is your tone sounding flat when going direct? Add some reverb and aural space to your mix with the Space control. A headphone jack found on the side of the Pulse encourages silent practicing without the need to switch on any amps in the room. Furthermore, extra options open up to you with the USB-C port, such as an audio interface to capture that quick spark of inspiration before it disappears forever, and an edit program to load your own third party IRs and receive firmware updates. Add buffered and true bypass options, and the Pulse stands as a worthy candidate for any rig, regardless of placement in your signal chain.

NUX Pulse Features:

  • IR loader and cabinet simulation pedal that conveniently fits into any pedalboard
  • Mono or stereo inputs and outputs
  • 3 selectable modes, each with 8 electric guitar cabinets, 8 bass cabinets, and 8 acoustic simulation IRs preloaded
  • Space control adds reverb into your mix
  • 3rd-party IR support available via the Pulse edit software in standard WAV format
  • Headphone output available for silent practicing
  • USB-C port used as an audio interface and firmware updates
  • Buffered or true bypass output allows flexibility in signal chain placement

Reviews

A solid, flexible IR loader
I've got this on a board with a handful of other effects. I've used it with a Bass Vi, a PRS SE Custom 24-08, and a Acoustisonic Jazzmaster. It's sounded great with all of them. It's on my smaller, easier-to-carry board for band practice, as the big main board is, well, big.

I'm actually looking at replacing a Line6 Pod Express Bass with another one. That unit is just less flexible, and it's not like it isn't on its own board.
