10x better than DIY

As a semi-pro woodworker I have made many pedalboards over the years. But this time around I decided to purchase one. I am blown away by the quality construction, light weight, strength, and versatility of this pedaltrain board. I chose it first for the size, it was exactly the size I required to fit my setup. There were several brands to choose from in the size range, some with power supplies, etc., but I prefer a board with rails, and you can't beat the Pedaltrain reputation, so I chose the Novo. The pedaltrain is built to last forever; can't imagine how anything could go wrong. The velcro system works, though I think I was cheated a bit on the amount of velcro. The bag is very well constructed. Other brands tend to skimp on the bag quality, but this bag seems strong and well designed, though it would be nice to have a few pockets. Also, the bag is much larger than I imagined, perfect size for the equipped board.I was able to fit my EVH overdrive, channel switcher, tuner, 6-band EQ, JamMan Stereo, JamMan Express, four iStomp pedals, and 10-port power block, with room to spare. All cable routing is neat and clean. Could not be happier.I actually needed three boards and almost purchased a 2nd and 3rd, but decided to cheap out and go wood for the other two (Home Depot Crate Lids- $11, work fantastic).Would I buy it again? Absolutely. However, and this is true for all similar type boards, IMHO, my DIY style of board made of wood with latching lid is "better" if you do lots of live gigs. Take a look at what the pro rockers use live--very few use a Pedaltrain style board; they use boards like my DIY version. Just saying. But for my current needs, the Novo is perfect....Oh, and as always, Sweetwater was the perfect place to buy it...in stock, quick delivery, perfection!

No pain Pedaltrain

Until I got this, I did not fully realize how much setup time it saves. It definitely looks and feels a hundred times better than what I had. I mounted my Voodoo Lab with no problem using the bracket designed for it. My pedals and Marshall 6-way footswitch sit nicely in the layout. I am very pleased with Sweetwater and I sincerely appreciate the good advice that I get from my Sales Engineer, Stephen!

Perfect Size and Design

I have 8 pedals and a loop switcher, and for years used a Pedal Pad AXS Road Buddy hard case board. I had chosen the Road Buddy over past Pedaltrain models because of the Road Buddy's squarish shape, which made it much easier to fit my full pedal setup on crowded stages (having a long, narrow 24" pedalboard was just not practical). The Road Buddy worked great except that it had a solid, carpeted pedal floor which made it very difficult to squeeze in pedals since all patch cables had to be run alongside the stomp boxes. With 8 pedals and a switcher, this made it very difficult to change my setup without re-doing the entire board to squeeze things back in, unless I bought a bigger board which I really didn't want to do. So when the Novo 18 came out I was very interested in checking it out and now I'm very happy I did!The Novo 18 is the same size as my Road Buddy so I have the compact form factor I needed but the open rails allow me to run patch and power cables around the stomps. So, even though the two boards are the same size, my pedals aren't nearly as crowded as they used to be and it's much, much easier to substitute pedals and change things around, which I had to avoid with the Road Buddy. The Novo is also much lighter than the Road Buddy case. The only downside is I no longer have the closed box protection for my pedal power supply (mounted underneath the Novo), so I have to keep an eye out for things like spilled drinks near my board. But I'm very happy with the Novo. It's the perfect size for what I need and I now have much more ease and flexibility with pedal setups.

The Perfect Board

Pedaltrain did an awesome job with this board! Very sturdy, and very light. Mine is just able to hold 12 pedals on it, (including a few Strymons) which I was blown away by! This is a very nice board with a great ratio on its size. This board is the most aesthetically pleasing board I've owned. And as always, Sweetwater comes through when I'm in need of something in regards to gear. Thank you guys!
