Part Charvel. Part Jackson. Totally Armed to the Teeth.

Two guitar icons come together in the Charvel Pro-Mod DK24. The classic Jackson Dinky body, here topped with vibrant quilted maple, is substantial in the hands and contoured against the body, while the Charvel two-piece reinforced maple Speed Neck remains rock solid as it ages. Charvel's familiar 12"–16" compound-radius maple fretboard flattens out nicely in the upper registers, giving technical players the speed and expression they need for bends, runs, and vibrato. Despite its aggressive looks you'll find a vast sonic range to explore, via twin Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups routed through a five-way position selector. Factor in the Floyd Rose 1000 recessed tremolo tailpiece for expressive bends and dives, and it's obvious the Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 guitar is primed for explosive playability.

Iconic Jackson body style

Grover Jackson's Dinky body style is to hard rock and metal what the Camaro is to drag racing. Contoured and classic, the Dinky provides the hard-line visuals, comfortable carry, and unlimited high-fret access that modern players demand.

Sonically diverse Seymour Duncan pickup set

If you're a single-guitar performer like many of us at Sweetwater, you'll particularly love the Pro-Mod DK24's diverse tonal potential. For drive, the Full Shred SH-10 bridge humbucker packs a big, focused low end and about as much sustain as you can get from a passive alnico pickup. And when you need to clean up, the APH-1 neck humbucker is a breath of fresh air with its warm sound and moderate output.

Floyd Rose locking tremolo

The recessed Floyd Rose tremolo bridge sits nice and flush with the DK24's body to provide sonic texture when you need it, and a relatively low profile when you don't. This double-locking tremolo system keeps tuning stable, even for all-out dive bombs.

Fast, stable, comfortable reinforced maple neck

The Pro-Mod DK24's neck and fretboard are designed to meet the demands of the technical player. The Charvel Speed Neck is built from two pieces of maple and graphite reinforced for a lifetime of rock-solid dependability. A heel-mounted spoke wheel facilitates speedy truss rod adjustments, while four heavy-duty bolts provide superior sound transmission from the neck to body. Fretside, the compound-radius maple fretboard flattens out to an arrow-straight 16" in the upper registers and comes fitted with 24 jumbo frets for maximum speed and control. Rolled fingerboard edges keep thumbs and fingers comfortable during play.

Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HH FR Electric Guitar Features:

  • Iconic Jackson Dinky body provides outstanding access to all 24 frets
  • Two-piece maple Speed Neck is fast and stable
  • Heel-mounted spoke wheel facilitates speedy truss rod adjustments
  • 12"–16" compound-radius rolled-edge maple fretboard is built for speed and comfort
  • Floyd Rose 1000 double-locking tremolo bridge texturizes without detuning
  • Full Shred SH-10 bridge humbucker (14.1kΩ) packs a tight low end and loads of sustain
  • APH-1 neck humbucker (7.5kΩ) yields moderate output and a warm character

Nice value for the price

Arrived in perfect condition. Fit and finish is great, it stays in tune with heavy trem use, and the pickups sound good enough that I'm not worried about replacing them. The pickup selection config is great, and is the same as I rewire my HH guitars that aren't already done that way. After performing a full setup and getting the action really low I found a buzz on the 7th fret only under the high E. A quick spot level and polish fixed that and now the entire neck is great. Probably wouldn't have been an issue if I didn't like the action so low. For the price the frets were done very well from the factory.

Swapped in a push in arm and brass block and I think I'm done. It's a great player and there are no regrets selling my RG565 to purchase this one.

A Stunning Beauty, and the Best Value to Dollar I’ve ever seen

This is a special guitar. Charvel is already a sleeper of a company, and this model, while being a hit out of the park, seems to be overlooked by the market. I am so glad I did not pass it up. Fit and finish is top notch; I've had this guitar for weeks, going over every inch and it's perfect— I've only found one tiny 'flaw' that I would not even count because it's not even visible. The laminate finish is immaculate, and the join to the body is perfectly smooth. Props to Sweetwaters inspection team, and my sales agent Mark— the instrument arrived in perfect condition, and the setup was within an ace of where I wanted it. Mark let me know exactly whn it would arrive, and even after a shipment to Colorado altitude, it was nearly in tune.

This thing plays like a dream, a sort of super strat hyper hybrid monster, with a fast neck and a wealth of tones at your fingertips. The tone bypass is a thoughtful touch that I instantly began using, and it's easy to find, while the tone pot is smooth and linear. The neck and bridge buckers have very different sounds, and the combo of pickups available is fantastic, giving a range of sounds that's easy and logical to navigate, like a strat. But this is no strat— the floyd rose is right at home on this guitar, and takes it right over the top into the land of hard rock, dive bombs, and whatever other sonic indulgences you fancy. But this beast of a guitar can just as easily dial in a super smooth jazz tone, soft and warm as an old hat.

In terms of looks, it's a killer. Gold hardware is not easy to pull off, but this model does it with ease. The depth of the finish and tiger stripe maple on mine was just fantastic. The overall impression is classy, not flashy or pretentious, and this guitar has the goods to back it up all the way. I would expect an instrument at this level to cost half again what it's priced at, considering the features and level of quality. And considering the level of attention to detail displayed by the Sweetwater sales team, I would buy another guitar from them without hesitation.

THIS IS WHAT CHARVEL's ARE!

I haven't bought a new guitar in 32 years. Mainly because I work too much and put playing guitar aside. I was completely removed from music to make a living. About a year ago I reconnected myself with repairing guitar for friends (I am a luthier but had to get a 9 to 5 to raise a family) and from the very first guitar I repaired, I fell in love with them again. Opned my own guitar cases and found my old friends just waiting. So I had to look for some new friends. Enter Max Rapp. In many conversations, about music and repairs or just life, and it took awhile to find the right one, and THIS ONE was it! I have a few old school Charvels from the 80's/90's that I'll not part with but this one was love at first sight but to play it? This thing is what the old school Charvels were and what they were meant to be! I can't find anything on it that I don't like and any flaws on her (there are none) that I couldn't fix. Max..... Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You made a veteran very happy by just talking guitars and pointing out that ....It's possible!
