Gibson’s Les Paul Studio: Refreshed and Better Than Ever

The Gibson Les Paul Studio packs classic tone and premium playability into a straightforward axe built to appeal to no-nonsense musicians craving a genuine Les Paul experience. The Les Paul Studio flaunts a maple-capped mahogany body, which is chambered for weight relief and given an eye-grabbing nitro lacquer finish. This solidbody electric guitar’s mahogany neck brandishes Gibson’s crowd-pleasing SlimTaper neck profile and traditional heel for maximum comfort and a slick-playing Indian rosewood fingerboard, which is now bound for a smoother feel and added visual appeal. A set of Burstbucker Pro pickups provides you with a gamut of PAF-flavored tones, while push-pull volume knobs give you access to coil-split single-coil textures. You also get head-turning acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays, a “Les Paul Model” headstock overlay, and a Gibson logo headstock inlay for authentic Les Paul aesthetics. The Gibson Les Paul Studio is truly better than ever, and we’re confident that discerning players searching for a real-deal Gibson at an accessible price point will find it impossible to pass up.

Contains bona fide Les Paul DNA

Although the Les Paul Studio was designed as a stripped-down, no-frills version of the Les Paul, there’s no mistaking this solidbody electric guitar for anything but a genuine Gibson Les Paul. This instrument boasts all the essential Les Paul features, such as a mahogany body, a maple top, a glued-in set neck, and Gibson USA humbuckers — everything that makes a Gibson Les Paul a Gibson Les Paul. Moreover, today’s Les Paul Studio also includes 1-ply fingerboard binding and coil-split Burstbucker Pro pickups, easily making it the most feature-laden version of the Studio ever. At this price point — and with these features — it enables players of all stripes to get their hands on an authentic Gibson Les Paul.

Burstbucker Pro: a modern spin on classic PAF sonics

Gibson’s Burstbucker pickups rest firmly in Sweetwater’s pickup pantheon as a top-tier PAF, but what if you’re after more power than a vintage-style humbucker can provide? Enter the Burstbucker Pro, a fatter, more powerful spin on time-tested PAF sonics. Burstbucker Pro pickups deliver all the classic characteristics of a top-notch PAF — exceptional clarity, a remarkably dynamic feel, and ample vintage-accurate warmth — but swaps out the lower-output Alnico II magnets for Alnico V. This results in a more aggressive attack and enhanced low-end response. Moreover, Burstbucker Pro pickups feature wax potting to cut down on hum and squeal. For the player seeking a vintage-style PAF that’s not afraid to venture into higher-gain territory, you’d be hard-pressed to beat Gibson’s Burstbucker Pro humbuckers.

Your conduit to effortless playability

Players who find vintage Les Pauls heavy and unwieldy (but who love them anyway) will be pleasantly surprised when they pick up the Gibson Les Paul Studio. To start, its Ultra-Modern weight-relieved construction shaves down the guitar’s total weight without affecting the natural acoustic tone of its maple-over-mahogany body. Its SlimTaper neck profile and traditional heel provide outstanding hand-cradling comfort. Finally, the Les Paul Studio’s bound Indian rosewood fingerboard ensures a smooth feel that’s guaranteed to yield hours upon hours of inspired playing. Simply put, the Les Paul Studio was tailor-made for marathon-length gigs; it’s a Les Paul you can play for as long as you want without repeated trips to the chiropractor.

Absolutely incredible guitar!
I have 4 other Les Pauls, but none are a Studio model. When this new Studio came out this week and I saw the color, the features, and the price, I decided to order one. And it did not disappoint. It is gorgeous! Fit and finish is perfect. Setup spot on. The pickups, which I didn't care for in my SG Modern, sound great in the Studio. The bound fretboard (with nibs) and slim taper neck feel great. This is one amazing guitar and I think the value for the price is solid. Job well done, Gibson and Sweetwater!

A Great Gibson Les Paul Studio
I'm a regular Sweetwater Sound customer but, I'll admit I bought this guitar at a local shop. I still wanted to write a great review about it. My very first impression was to see if it stayed in tune well enough or not. I wasn't completely convinced so I passed on it however, my second opportunity was different. The feel and playability is much better than expected and a truly fantastic Gibson guitar. I bought a set of non collered Kluson Locking Tuners which I plan to install in addition to a set of String Joy 10-46 strings. The guitar itself isn't to heavy in addition it has binding on the 60's style neck which is a plus. So if your thinking about buying this Gibson Studio, I think it's well worth the money at a great value.

Excellent Gibson Studio guitar
I am thrilled with my Gibson Studio; the feel above all sets it apart. The neck tapered makes difficult chords accessible— I use both Left-hand and Right-hand guitars for hand rehabilitation, an ortho MD miss-set my broken bone right before 9-11 and I have a deviated wrist at impossible angles on both sides plus other misdiagnoses.

The most impressive elements of this guitar are: access to upper frets by way of a carve out heel…I if you dont like playing there, and most never used to, it doesnt matter; but if you like using the frets like 15 for high-G, D, B-flat, F, C-natural, and bass- G, for example, instead of the 3rd fret, this guitar or an Epiphone with the cutout heel is for you. I have the left-hand EES Epiphone, and it is even better for these frets.

The sound is good, but the feel is fabulous, especially the bridge, you can tell the higher quality hardware. I had the thing plekked, which would get you locked up in Virginia for not-understanding plea-spelling, if your untalented rival in New England put plekk in the EùsW while you took literary editor day off—lets say you edited Game of Thrones so you don't wake up for ESW, so… the plekk is a machine-set-up that is extra. If they kidnap you by phony- psych and say you are also impossibly indigent to steal your Gulfstream jet; and then make you mentally incompetent on the Harvard faculty for intellectual property prize IP such that the US fell by Harvard Society Fellows (they did the same in Math outside the field to John Nash over the same prizes), you point to your Gibson, and then to the Epi, if you are not separated during the kidnap, and answer that you are so not indigent despite the kidnapping to buy, say, several, guitars as many billionaires used to, as there are prizes give or take the stolen ones….You are not safe to reason, it's a kidnap, so you think: how does an indigent person on the Harvard faculty plekk in Virginia in a kidnapping Rackateering scheme where an MD monopoly uses govern, ent black people to steal in election years? It might not be advisable to say anything, they want intellectual property details, calling themselves medical police, oh youre on to it. Blacks split the inheritance and create conservators and you dont exist in two different states across state lines at once as heiress in Montecito where Oprah ended the United States.
