Like Having Many Tremolo Pedals in One

Normally the pickiest tremolo users at Sweetwater won't settle for anything less than the built-in tremolo on a classic Fender or Vox amp, but the JHS Kodiak tremolo pedal with tap tempo made us sit up and take note. Dial in your choice of four different time divisions to perfectly sync the effect along with your music. You can dial in a fast shimmer or a slow, throbbing tremolo, with your choice of four different waveshapes. You can even dial the Mix down all the way and dial up the Volume to use the Kodiak pedal as a boost. If your guitar tone relies on tremolo, then you'll be well served with the JHS Kodiak tremolo on your pedalboard.

Ready for external control too

On the side of the Kodiak pedal, you'll find an input for external control over the speed of the tremolo effect. You can use an external tap switch if you need to place tap tempo control away from the Kodiak — just select TAP via the selector switch near the control input. Or attach an expression pedal and select EXP for foot control over the tremolo speed.

JHS Kodiak Features:

  • Exceptionally versatile analog tremolo pedal with a vast assortment of choppy tones
  • Speed knob offers a wide sweep, from swampy slow sounds to rapid-fire rhythms
  • Wave knob switches between sine, rhythmic, square, or ramp wave types for a variety of distinct tremolo sounds
  • Side EXP/TAP switch swaps between tap in/out or expression out for the tap/expression jack
  • Tap tempo to quickly set your speed and make quick real-time adjustments
  • Plug in an expression pedal to modify your tremolo speed on the fly
  • Volume knob can be cranked to boost your amp
  • Top-mounted jacks for easy integration into a pedalboard
  • True bypass switching keeps your tone intact while the effect is off

Reviews

Kodiac Does tht Trick
Great trem pedal with the ability to wave mix. Beats the the pedals with the single triad spike. Three wave forms here. Much richer!
Music background: 50 year pro LA Local 47
Best tremolo I've ever played.
This thing is crazy. Every setting is a game changer and it will always be heard. It's great for clean tone and distortion. Some people say that it's to intense but that's just not true. You can use the tap tempo, the speed knob, the ratio knob, and the shape knob to change the intensity to what ever you see fit. Coming from a metal player, I can say that this is the best tremolo pedal I've ever played for the genre.
Trem heaven!
Ive owned quite a few different trem pedals over the years, this is by far the best tremolo pedal I have ever played or ever heard. Ever. I could go into details about how versatile it is, or how many wave forms you can choose from, or that it has a mix knob and tap tempo. But all you really need to know is..this is it. This is the one. If you can't get a sound you like out of this pedal then tremolo is not your thing. This pedal is perfection.
It can growl
Not kidding with the right settings it can literally growl. I really liked the tremolo, tons of options and wonderful warm sound. Love the that tap tempo, But it's just not exactly what I was looking for in my rig so I'm exchanging it. Just an FYI make sure you know what you want. Exchanging items through sweetwater is easy but can take up to a month to process. Waiting for package return, waiting for money return, waiting for new item to be bought and shipped, etc. Other than that,it's a great pedal from JHS and good customer service from sweetwater (just make sure you test your stuff at a store before you buy)
Best Trem for the money
The Tap Tempo is a must. Versatile, killer sound quality. Josh at JHS has it dialed.
