Iconic Offset Style Meets Uncompromising Player II Performance

Equipped with a traditional slab rosewood fingerboard, the Fender Player II Jazzmaster serves up a modern spin on Fender’s historic offset icon. This guitar’s alder body comes loaded with a vintage-style floating tremolo unit to grant you expressive flutter and sway, slightly repositioned closer to the bridge to improve stability and sustain. In tonal terms, the Player II series introduces fresh pickups to the fold — Fender’s Player series Alnico V Jazzmaster single-coils supply springy Jazzmaster snap in spades, sporting crisp highs and tight, firm lows. Head over to the maple neck to be greeted by Fender’s fast-playing Modern “C” profile, which delivers sleek modern playability thanks to its 9.5-inch-radius slab rosewood fingerboard and Fender ClassicGear tuners. Combining all the idiosyncratic charm of a vintage-style Jazzmaster with all the benefits of modern performance, the Fender Player II Jazzmaster is a stage-ready 6-string that epitomizes classic offset style.

Revoiced Player II pickups

Newly revamped for the Player II series, dual Player series Alnico V Jazzmaster single-coil pickups offer all the ideal sonic hallmarks of Jazzmaster tone, sporting chiming highs, firm lows, and restrained mids. Compared to the standard single-coils found on your typical Strat or Tele, these pickups offer a fuller, broader frequency response that’s all but defined the sound of surf music, shoegaze, indie rock, and countless other genres. Moreover, the Player II Jazzmaster does away with the traditional Jazzmaster rhythm circuit for a cleaner and more straightforward control section.

Rosewood returns to the fold

The Fender Player II series reintroduces a classic timber back into the tonewood fold: rosewood. It’s the de facto standard for any Fender without a maple fingerboard and has been used since the late 1950s — a fitting feature for the Player II Jazzmaster, as the Jazzmaster was the first guitar that Fender originally decked out with a rosewood ’board! What’s more, Player II guitars also feature rolled fingerboard ends for enhanced playing comfort and lock-tight Fender ClassicGear tuners.

Shimmer, sway, and glide with Fender’s floating tremolo

From subtle surfy sway to seasick shoegaze-inspired textures, the Fender floating tremolo system offers an expressive feel you can’t get anywhere else. While the system is undoubtedly revered for its rock-solid stability and effortlessly smooth feel, it’s also a critical tonal element to the offset guitar experience. Furthermore, the Player II Jazzmaster’s tremolo unit features a repositioned location closer to the bridge, which many of Sweetwater’s offset adherents find enhances both bridge stability and sustain.

Fender Player II Jazzmaster Features:

  • Comfortably contoured offset alder body
  • Maple neck in Fender’s slim and fast-playing Modern “C” profile
  • 9.5-inch-radius slab rosewood fingerboard with comfortable rolled edges
  • Satin neck finish offers a sleek and speedy feel
  • 2 Player series Alnico V Jazzmaster single-coil pickups boast sparkling highs, firm lows, and a sharp, snappy attack
  • Simplified electronics section compared to a vintage Jazzmaster, including a 3-way switch and tone and volume controls
  • Fender floating tremolo unit unlocks expressive sway, warble, and glide
  • Repositioned tremolo unit closer to the bridge gives you enhanced sustain and stability
  • Fender ClassicGear tuning machines with vintage-style slot-in operation

Solid Guitar for Price
When I received it the fretboard was dry, there was a little bit of fretpsprout at the highest frets, and one pot was scratchy sounding (physically, not when played through amp) but that has since gone away from twisting it a lot. But with all those (dare I say to be expected?) issues sorted it has played great every since. Love it.
Jazzmaster player 2

The guitar fretboard was bone dry, it had fret sprout, as well. I fixed it's problems and WOW!! It has got my strat and Les Paul lonely, like old girlfriends. The pickups are awesome, articulate and need no upgrade. Volume and tone knobs work perfectly. I have the racing green color, which is beautiful to me\, (\

. Anyway, I am happy... now.
