Combines a BOSS Blues Driver and JHS Angry Charlie

BOSS celebrates 40 years of tone-shaping by teaming up with JHS to create the JB-2 Angry Driver. This versatile pedal packs the tones of the BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver and JHS Angry Charlie into a single BOSS-style housing. Three dual-concentric knobs provide independent Drive, Tone, and Level control for each voice, while a six-position mode selector dials in each overdrive independently or combines them in series and parallel configurations. Whether you use the Blues Driver to propel the Angry Charlie's aggressive voice into saturation, reverse the order to push the Blues Driver into a muscular crunch, or experiment with innovative new sounds, there are an endless array of tones inside of the JB-2 Angry Driver.

BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver supplies smooth overdrive

The BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver simulates the sound of a vintage tube amplifier — a killer creamy yet crunchy tonal blend. It's like having a finely-aged vintage tube amplifier in your rig. If you're playing blues, or if you're wanting to give your rock rig a different overdriven flavor than every other guitar player on the block, you'll love the warm overdrive and emotive distortion the Blues Driver adds to your rig.

JHS Angry Charlie delivers hot-rodded high-gain

The JHS Angry Charlie captures the essence of British tone, turning your guitar amp into a sonic flamethrower. The Angry Charlie makes conjuring high-gain tones a breeze, delivering the rich bass response, thick mids, and balanced high end you'd expect from a hot-rodded British stack. When they designed the Angry Charlie, JHS faithfully replicated a full British-style tone stack.

Put them together for an endless array of tones

JHS Pedals founder Josh Scott is a longtime admirer of the BOSS Blues Driver, and even credits the classic overdrive pedal with sparking his interest in stompbox building. So when the opportunity arose to collaborate with BOSS President Yoshi Ikegami, he was absolutely stoked. The two passionate pedal designers experimented with endless combinations of stompboxes, and BOSS's Blues Driver and JHS's Angry Charlie were the clear winners. Since the Blues Driver covers low gain so well, it acts as the perfect complement to the Angry Charlie's high-gain tones. At Sweetwater, we love stacking overdrives — it provides a multitude of different shadings and textures — and we've found the JB-2 to be a match made in tonal heaven.

Angry Driver
Through the advice of my Salers Engineer, Steve Gray, I purchased the "Angry Driver" pedal. the performance is far more than I expected, as a result I purchased another one for my other amp. Stephan's advice, as always, was spot on.
Thanks Sweetwater, Charlie

Want a Blues Driver but like a little more on demand gain? Look no further.
I've been wanting a blues driver for a while. I've been using my old DS1 like one for months. Recently got gifted a JB-2 and I've been blown away. I mainly play a strat with lace sensors and this pedal responds really well to riding the volume knob. The blues driver circuit was what I was after but I had to give all of the other settings a go. I fell in love with the J->B Setting so much so that I prefer it over the tone I get from my PRS MT-15's dirty channel. So naturally I got the JHS little red switch to go along with this. It's not just two pedals in one, it's two completely different beasts working in unison to please the tone gods. Get you one today.
Amazing sustain and tone!
I bought this pedal halfway through my summer tour this year as my DS-1 unexpectedly stopped working and a friend of mine recommended it as a step up. I was not dissapointed to say the least! I run it on parallel mode with the boss running a mostly clean tone and the JHS on almost full gain, so I get great sustain and drive when I'm playing lead, and I can avoid muddiness and overly fuzzy distortion when playing rhythm without messing around too much with my volume. It's incredibly versatile, as you can have them stacked JHS>Boss or Boss>JHS, you can have it on the JHS/boss setting so that you can quickly switch between the two, you can use the parrallel setting like I do, or you can use it simply as a blues driver for a crunchy clean boost on low gain, or borderline fuzz on high gain, or you can ise the JHS for a smooth, well sustaining, high gain overdrive. Easily one of the best investments I've made, I 100% recommend.

killer tones
this is a great pedal!!! I bought it at guitar fest this year. the versatility of tones is exceptional.
My new favorite Overdrive pedal!
I'm not one that typically favors any type of overdrive pedal. I prefer amp generated distortion/overdrive. However I got this pedal due to it's remote switch capabilities in my setup with the BOSS ES-8.

However I was pleasantly suprised at how it sounded! All the modes bring something different to the table, and it has a great distortion sound that sounds more "amp like" than other overdrives i've tried.

Great pedal!
