Perfect for Acoustic Performers
What began as a pet project for company founder Bob Taylor has come full circle. The Circa 74 marks Taylor’s first acoustic amplifier — and boy, it is a heavy hitter! This 150-watt, 2-channel combo is utterly different from any other amp on today’s market. First and foremost, its cabinet is built entirely from mahogany for greater warmth. The 10-inch full-range speaker is voiced to deliver the clarity and treble extension needed to accommodate any combination of guitars and singers without harshness. Each channel includes an independent 3-band EQ and reverb control to dial up a superb sound quickly. Finally, the Circa 74 arrives with a custom stand for performing. Performers looking for a new favorite acoustic guitar and vocal amplifier will fall in love with Taylor’s Circa 74.

Beautifully simple design
Some acoustic guitar amps are plagued by harsh, overly exaggerated treble. Sweetwater guitarists were relieved to discover that the Circa 74 solves this issue. Bob Taylor and his team intentionally dialed back the high end on this amp so that it produces nothing but smooth, warm, and inviting tones in both channels. Speaking of channels, each one includes an independent level control, 3-band EQ, and its own reverb. With these simple controls, any musician can quickly and easily dial in an ear-grabbing, pleasing sound.
Compatible with any pickup and microphone design
Taylor really hit it out of the park on their first amplifier design. The company put the Circa 74 through its paces by testing it with all manner of acoustic guitars and microphones before releasing the amp to the public. In fact, Taylor’s testing was so thorough that the company developed helpful presets for pickup systems, such as the Taylor Expression System and those from other companies, including Fishman, LR Baggs, and K&K. They even did the same for major mic manufacturers like Shure, Electro-Voice, and Telefunken. Whatever guitar, pickup, or microphone you use, the Circa 74 makes it sound amazing.
Includes a sturdy custom stand
A guitar amp of this caliber deserves more than living life on the floor. Taylor knows this, too. That’s why they developed a custom stand specifically for this amp. Like the cabinet, the stand is made from mahogany. The angled design aims the sound at your audience’s ears, drastically increasing clarity. Worried about your amp sliding off the stand? Don’t be. Taylor includes routed footholds to securely hold your new amp in place.
