The Legendary FOXX Tone Machine Is Back!

Danelectro owner Steve Ridinger created the FOXX pedal line in the 1970s. Steve priced the FOXX Tone Machine at $49. Today the coveted originals sell for over $600. Now Sweetwater is pleased to present Steve’s revamp of his original circuit with some major tweaks. The Danelectro 3699 Fuzz features a significantly more pronounced octave (which is now footswitchable), a warmer overall tone, and a Mid-boost toggle to counteract the mid cut of the original pedal. Plug your guitar into the Danelectro 3699 Fuzz and bask in its velvety vintage tone.

What's in a name?

Back in the ’70s, it was considered cool for some reason for a company to have a phone number that spelled out the name of your product. So Steve sat down in front of a phone and figured out which numbers were needed to spell F-O-X-X. What he got was 3-6-9-9. To his utter amazement, this was already the FOXX phone number, which was randomly assigned the year before by the phone company. Weird!

Danelectro 3699 Fuzz Pedal Features:

  • Revamp of the coveted original FOXX Tone Machine
  • Significantly more pronounced octave
  • Octave is footswitchable
  • Warmer overall tone
  • Added Mid-boost toggle
  • Volume, Fuzz, and Tone controls

Reviews

Sweet n wicked
Start it wicked, this pedal is spot on. I like that they give you a chart it helps to dial it in. Then just go crazy with it. Larry Reed was very informative and helpful. Thanks Larry and Sweetwater.
Music background: Used to gig,now just enjoyment.
Amazing tone
Did not think I was going to get Bass out of this pedal, expecting the thin Fuzz tone you get with vintage fuzz.
I was pleasantly surprised that you can get both modern fat fuzz and the 60's fuzz sounds out of this wonderful pedal! So happy it fits my taste, run an overdrive before it and modern metal sounds come out of it. Best pedal I have purchased in a long time.
Music background: Guitar Professional
octave fuzz lots of octave.
this effect is not subtle. octave. mid scoop. more fuzz than you probably ever will need. looks cool to boot.
Awesome hands down!!!
Just like everyone says!!! I can get the perfect sound ! I can play the Theme song from peter Fonda movie (the wild angels) !! Best Fuzz octave!! I ever had !! Danelectro is up there with the big boys now!!!
