Danelectro owner Steve Ridinger created the FOXX pedal line in the 1970s. Steve priced the FOXX Tone Machine at $49. Today the coveted originals sell for over $600. Now Sweetwater is pleased to present Steve’s revamp of his original circuit with some major tweaks. The Danelectro 3699 Fuzz features a significantly more pronounced octave (which is now footswitchable), a warmer overall tone, and a Mid-boost toggle to counteract the mid cut of the original pedal. What's in a name?
Back in the ’70s, it was considered cool for some reason for a company to have a phone number that spelled out the name of your product. So Steve sat down in front of a phone and figured out which numbers were needed to spell F-O-X-X. What he got was 3-6-9-9. To his utter amazement, this was already the FOXX phone number, which was randomly assigned the year before by the phone company. Weird!
