Danelectro 3699 Fuzz / Octaver Pedal Reviews

Fuzz/Octaver Pedal with Mid-boost, Octave Footswitch; Volume, Fuzz, and Tone Controls

Danelectro owner Steve Ridinger created the FOXX pedal line in the 1970s. Steve priced the FOXX Tone Machine at $49. Today the coveted originals sell for over $600. Now Sweetwater is pleased to present Steve’s revamp of his original circuit with some major tweaks. The Danelectro 3699 Fuzz features a significantly more pronounced octave (which is now footswitchable), a warmer overall tone, and a Mid-boost toggle to counteract the mid cut of the original pedal. Plug your guitar into the Danelectro 3699 Fuzz and bask in its velvety vintage tone.

Sweet n wicked

By Reid Passmore from NIAGARA FALLS, NY on February 22, 2023 Music Background: Used to gig,now just enjoyment.

Start it wicked, this pedal is spot on. I like that they give you a chart it helps to dial it in. Then just go crazy with it. Larry Reed was very informative and helpful. Thanks Larry and Sweetwater.

Amazing tone

Did not think I was going to get Bass out of this pedal, expecting the thin Fuzz tone you get with vintage fuzz.
I was pleasantly surprised that you can get both modern fat fuzz and the 60's fuzz sounds out of this wonderful pedal! So happy it fits my taste, run an overdrive before it and modern metal sounds come out of it. Best pedal I have purchased in a long time.

Amazing!

Just received this piece of vintage art beauty yesterday and gave it a try. What a remarkable sound! Paired with EXH Crayon overdrive that gives it a nice high-end full-body gain and mid boost plus MXR Carbon Copy mini I've managed to get a sweet break up distortion sound that sings like a bird and gives you that metal vibe you need to nail lead soloes with ease. (7- band EQ and compressor sustainer also in the chain) Thank you, Mr.Steve Ridinger, for that outstanding box. Well worth of the money paid.

Rich Tone - Fantastic Range

By Colin from NY Metro on October 27, 2020 Music Background: Singer, Songwriter, Guitar, Bass, and some Piano for 25 years

I, like many of you, value my money and try to avoid buyer's remorse at all costs. I researched Fuzz and Octave Fuzz pedals until my ears went numb. This fuzz is fantastic. Very versatile, great range of tones and very full. The octave on and off switch creates a whole new effect - The fuzz control offers mild overdriven tone to staticky wall of sound fuzz. My sales engineer, Chris Neyman, is great to work with. I have been working with him for over 2 years now and couldn't be happier with the expert knowledge, guidance, and service!

Amazing Fuzz Tone

I'm definitely a bit of a fuzz pedal snob and to be honest Ive owned pretty much everything out there... This is definitely one of the best and not a pedal that I ever plan on leaving my board. I was extremely skeptical at 1st as I am with any type of reissue product However I was delightfully surprised!!

A New Years Eve. w/ Jimi H.

By Young William on May 29, 2020 Music Background: 40 years of jammin' and still havin' a great time.

Gets you real close, if not the perfect... tone of the Band of Gypsy's, IMO. After buying and using at least 6 different octave fuzz pedals, this 1 will end my quest for that sound. Adding a Fulltone Dejavibe,Clyde Wah,Trower Overdrive & a Great Marshall...well, "Who Knows".

Awesome Fuzz!

By Chris from Milford, CT on May 12, 2020 Music Background: 40 years playing

I was really shocked at this fuzz pedal. I've owned quite a few. Find myself generally going back to the same "smiley faced" pedal over the years for fuzz. Really wanted something different. Wow. Danelectro really came through! Just an amazing sound and the mid boost is an awesome option to have. That option really cleans up the fuzz a little and allows for more tone to shine through. Additionally, it is sensitive to your volume control on your guitar. Clean it up by rolling off your volume. Want it nice and dirty...crank it up!! This is a better sounding octave fuzz than I dare say the OctaFuzz. I really think the octaves are clearer and more resounding than other pedals I've used that had octave and fuzz together. Overall you cannot go wrong with this fuzz. Glad to have it on my pedalboard.

Nice Fuzz

I like this fuzz pedal. Has quite a few different sounds which I like. It is a little noisy but not too bad. If you need a good fuzz pedal get it.
