A Nylon-string Grand Auditorium with a Balanced Sound

The Taylor 314ce-N is a solid intermediate Grand Auditorium for players who demand excellent dynamics and a natural direct tone from a nylon string. The 314ce-N's sapele back and sides have a warm, full body, with subtle sparkle and a broad dynamic range thanks to a Sitka spruce top. This classic Taylor tonewood combo ensures that the full emotion of every performance is felt by your audience, plugged in or unplugged. Taylor ES-N electronics provide convenient and natural-sounding amplification for the stage and studio with discreet tone and volume controls to help you shape your sound.

Grand Auditorium body style delivers a full sound and sleek look

Acoustic players all over the world reach for Taylor Grand Auditorium guitars like the 314ce-N. This guitar's comfortable narrow waist, rich full range of sounds, sharp definition, and sleek look make it an excellent intermediate option for fingerpickers, Classical players, and singer-songwriters who depend on a good-sounding, good-playing instrument night after night.

Sitka spruce and satin sapele balance warmth and sparkle

This nylon-string guitar's Sitka spruce top gives it good projection with just the right amount of sparkle. The 314ce-N's sapele back and sides also give it a warm, mellow quality, similar to that of mahogany, for a full and balanced tone. Sweetwater guitarists all agree that the sapele's satin finish feels good in the hands and looks great under stage lights.

Taylor ES-N electronics for a natural and dynamic nylon-string experience

Artists who play plugged in will appreciate the Taylor 314ce-N's natural-sounding ESN electronics. This system's undersaddle pickup, preamp, and tone section have all been tailored to complement the sound and dynamics of nylon strings. Discreet master volume and tone controls let you tweak your sound and output from the stage.

Reviews

Amazing
My first Taylor...very impressed
Music background: Professional Guiartist
Great guitar but warranty work needed after purchase.
Soon after purchasing this guitar I noticed buzzing in the first and second fret, E and B string. I took it to an authorized service technician and he said that the truss rod was locked down too tight. Shouldn't something like this be found in the multi-point inspection?
Music background: 60 years performing and playing guitar.
Very Impressed.
I've never owned a Taylor guitar before this. I was skeptical because I often prefer more traditional tones from classical, and the deeper Martin-Esque tones from steel-string acoustics.

However, I was looking for something that I could seamlessly use a pick, my fingers, strum, play Jazz, Classical, and Folk on one instrument. This fits the bill perfectly. The tones are balanced and piano-like, pleasant. It's just enough traditional and just enough cross-over to play a little of everything, and make for a beautiful sound and a smooth playing experience.

There are no flaws to be found in the finish, the frets. You can feel the vibrations over every millimeter of the top, all the notes are clear and bell-like. Not only do I regret not buying this sooner, but it has also sold me on the sound and quality of Taylor guitars.

Great Guitar
Amazing guitar not only because of it's natural sound and the craftmanship, it is also good for people who play acoustic and electric guitar cause the touch of this instrument is very similar to a regular acoustic. More playability on a classical guitar and the pick up they used is very natural. So even if you are playing just an acoustic or connect it to your amp the tone will still give you that classical sound. The best nylon guitar that i own and i collect guitars and i am very happy to include this wonderful instrument to my collection. If you guys have a chance to try it please do so and i can assure you that you will like it right away like i did. Thanks again to sweetwater and my sales engineer Jeff Law for always recommending me the best guitar.
