Set Your Controls for the Heart of the Sun
Simply put, Sweetwater studio engineers agree that the 0011 stereo microphone preamp/EQ is the sound of late-1960s British Rock in a 2RU rackmount unit. It retains two of the original Helios 2128 preamp circuits, complete with loads of features. Regarding the preamps, you’ll find 70dB of gain adjustable in 5dB steps, Lustraphone input transformers, -20dB pads, EQ switches, Phase switches, and balanced line-in sections. For the EQs, there are inductor-based LF/MF EQ sections (with selectable LF and MF and fixed 10Khz HF controls), EQ bypass, and selectable HPFs with the original 40Hz and 80Hz cutoff points … but we’re not done yet! The H2 Audio 0011 Stereo also retains additional, original Helios output amplifiers plus output transformers, which enable the H2 Audio 0011 Stereo mic pre/EQ to drive a 600-ohm load up to 25dB before clipping.

2128 preamp circuits
The H2 Audio 0011 stereo mic preamp/EQ includes meticulous re-creations of Helios 2128 preamp circuits, arming you with 25–75dB of gain in 5dB increments, and it boasts Lustraphone input transformers, providing you with +20dB of gain before the preamplifiers. You get plenty of baked-in features, including -20dB pads, +48V phantom power, EQ Cut switches, and Phase switches. The 0011 Stereo Mic Preamp/EQ brandishes electronically balanced line inputs, transformer-balanced line output amplifiers, and custom output transformers, and it yields a 600-ohm drive capability of up to 25dB before clipping.
Inductor-based EQs
The H2 Audio 0011 stereo mic preamp/EQ contains inductor-based equalizers with selectable low- and mid-frequency controls and fixed 10kHz high-frequency controls. The EQs include highpass filters with 0, 40Hz, and 80Hz filter points. Their Bass Hz rotary switches include selectable 60Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz, or 300Hz boosts, or variable 50Hz filters with selectable 3dB, 6dB, 9dB, 12dB, or 15dB cuts. Their Mid kHz rotary switches include selectable 0.7kHz, 1kHz, 1.4kHz, 2kHz, 2.8kHz, 3.5kHz, 4.5kHz, or 6kHz boosts or cuts. Their 10kHz rotary switches will create bell-shaped boosts or cuts at 10kHz by -2dB, -4dB, -6dB, -8dB, -10dB, +2dB, +4dB, +6dB, +8dB, or +10dB. Finally, PK/TR switches denote the midrange EQs as peaks or troughs.
