Ideal Amp for Acoustic and Electric Players

The Rivera Sedona 25 combo amplifier is an exceptional acoustic-electric hybrid tube amp. If you go back and forth between acoustic and electric guitar, the Sedona 25 is perfect for you. Plug your electric guitar into Channel 1, and dial in anything from bluesy crunch to high-gain growl. Channel 2 is perfect for your acoustic guitar.

Rivera Sedona 25 Acoustic-electric Combo Amplifier at a Glance:
  • Great tube sound live or in the studio
  • Feedback-fighting equalizer and 6-spring reverb onboard
Great tube sound live or in the studio

The Sedona 25 gives both your acoustic and your electric guitar amazing tube tone, making it one of the most versatile amplifiers we've seen at Sweetwater. In fact, it sounds so good, you'll want to use it in the studio as well as onstage. That's why Rivera gave the Sedona 25 a built-in rear-panel tube direct box output. This balanced XLR direct output features a CineMag transformer and an all-tube signal path, letting you record or run direct to the house system, without sacrificing your tone.

Feedback-fighting equalizer and 6-spring reverb onboard

Feedback is always an issue when you plug in an acoustic guitar onstage. That's why Rivera gave the Sedona 25 a powerful anti-feedback equalizer that's tough on drone and squeal, but light on your tone. Plug into Channel 1, and the anti-feedback circuit cuts out. And when it comes to natural-sounding reverb, nothing beats the Sedona 25's long-pan, 6-spring Accutronics reverb.

Rivera Sedona 25 Acoustic-electric Combo Amplifier Features:
  • The perfect all-tube combo amplifier for both your electric and acoustic guitars
  • 25 watts of tube power drive a Celestion T-75 speaker with a switchable tweeter on channel 2
  • Built-in anti-feedback equalizer provides drone-free and squeal-free acoustic tone
  • All-tube amplification covers tones from bluesy breakup to high-gain shred
  • Onboard long-pan, 6-spring Accutronics reverb lets you add sweet depth to your sound
  • Effects loop and balanced XLR direct out feature CineMag transformers
  • Dual speaker and tweeter outputs make expanding your rig easy
  • Designed with Nashville fingerpicking legend Doyle Dykes
The Rivera Sedona 25 is the one amp you need to play both acoustic and electric guitar.

Reviews

It's great, but caveat emptor!
First of all, it took 15 (fifteen) months to get after ordering! OK, for a hand-built custom amplifier by one of the best builders in the world, but man, tell us that first! Not, "well, maybe six months. Then 8, the a year, then..."

It is MUCH larger and heavier than you think. I have a 55w Rivera Fandango that we use in clubs. It's louder than many half stacks, no venue has ever told me to turn it up. I needed a studio amp that can handle acoustics, electrics and semi's without a lot of fuss switching between them. The Sedona is that and more, but it is every bit as big and heavy as the Fandango, to the point that I can use one road case and have a perfect fit with both. It is extremely heavy for its size, being built like an absolute tank as are all Rivera amps.

Sound-wise it's got a harder bite than one may think from the video. The electric side goes from a Bluesbreaker to a JCM900, and the acoustic side just sounds good, no real comparison to make cause there is none. The controls are basic but effective, the push-pull features are game changing. It's also loud, and I mean loud. I have 2 100w Marshall full-stacks and I'm still saying that. 25 watts that hit like 50 at least, easily able to keep up with drums and bass.

So don't buy it if you need a quiet, docile studio or bedroom amp, that's not its forte and there are many others better for that. DO buy it if it's going to be your only amp for everything, no other comes close to the features at this size. It tolerates pedals better than most, the DI feature is incredible sounding (for once) and the volume control doesn't kill your sound in either direction. (None of this "perfect at exactly 4, terrible at others" stuff)

It's not cheap, very hard to get and well worth the wait. With the extension cab it's blistering loud and will keep up by itself in most situations. If you think you need a half-stack, consider a Rivera combo instead. When you need 4x12's and 100 watts, then choose something else. Until then, this badass little amp will do ya!
Music background: Studio owners
Makes an Acoustic Guitar Sound Like an Acoustic Guitar
First, this thing is built like a tank. 3/4" maple core plywood all the way around. No doubt about durability.

On to the sound. I have to add some qualification here as I have only checked out Channel 2 with my Taylor Grand Orchestra custom and have not gotten around to checking Channel 1 with an electric yet. Having said that, the sound shaping capabilities on Channel 2 are vast and usable. The interactive tone controls make fine-tuning your sound to match the moment very easy. The built-in spring reverb is sweet and the 25-watt output is more than plenty for my stage volume needs. I have never played through an acoustic amp that gives this type of true representation of the instrument itself.
Literally throwing a $ amp away
This amp's design is defective. We've had to replace the tubes twice in less than a year of owning it and now it's doing it a third time. This is with being used 1-2 times per week and never leaving a home studio.

Stay far away from this amp, I'm literally putting mine in the trash can and buying something not defective. Complete waste of $.
