La Bella Phosphor Bronze

Made from a custom bronze and tin alloy formulation, La Bella 7GPS Phosphor Bronze acoustic guitar strings deliver the sound and durability that, since their introduction in the 1970s, have made them the company's most popular acoustic strings across all genres.

La Bella's string expertise reaches back centuries

While La Bella strings are the top choice for world-famous musicians such as Willie Nelson, Bryan Adams, and Ron Carter, their heritage reaches way back - almost four centuries back, starting in Salle, Italy, in the seventeenth century with the Mari family. They were famous throughout Europe and even supplied violin strings to Amati and Stradivari. Brothers Emilio and Olinto Mari moved their string operation to New York in the early twentieth century, and the modern-day foundation for La Bella strings was born. Join the Sweetwater guitarists and bassists who rely on La Bella strings to deliver the tone, onstage and in the studio.

Reviews

Adds Vitality to Ho-Hum Guitar
I have been trying to improve the tone of a OM Spruce Top, Layered Mahogany back and sides acoustic guitar that I own. It's sound was rather dry and un-inspiring until I installed a set of these Phosphor Bronze strings(12-52 gauge). It brought a vitality to the sound and made it ring! They are easy under the fingers as well. Was very pleased that I found a good match for Lil' Maggie.
Music background: Lifetime Guitar Student
Perfect for all Mahogany Guitars and Fingerstyle
I'm constantly playing the "let's try new strings" game, and these La Bellas have impressed me. I've had them on my Preston Thompson all mahogany 00-12mm for just over a week now and the sound out of the gate was amazing. They stretched easily and hold tune very well. I'm not a fan of overly bright strings, but these are perfect when blended with the warmth that an all hog brings to the table. They respond well to both light and heavy touches on a responsive guitar. Being an uncoated string, I expect them to not last very long due to just how hard my hands are on strings, but for the sound they bring I'll gladly change them often. I think I'm done playing the strings game...for this guitar at least.
I'm happy!
Got these to replace the .13 gauge Elixir strings that came with my Taylor. To my ear they sound just as good (maybe I could notice a difference if I played them side by side?). These feel easier on my fingers, so I am very happy with them!
Not impressed
I will stick with Martin or D'Angelico for lower priced strings.
