Dressed-up and Sonically Stripped-back Double-cut
Never has a Gretsch Custom Shop guitar said so much by saying so little! Meet the G6128 ’62 Jet — a dutiful double-cut creation that will put one lucky player in the driver’s seat for zero-nonsense music making in style like never before. A lightweight chambered mahogany body comes topped in a veneer of deluxe Tasmanian blackwood for unbelievable earthy appeal. The command of the G6128 ’62 Jet is designed to feel like second nature right from the start, speared with an ebony-topped and Stock C-profiled neck of mesmerizing roasted flame maple. And its voice? Loud and clear! Its lone Dogear P-90 pickup supplies nothing but full-bodied single-coil saturation for days — what you love is what you get! Completed with Custom Shop trimmings like silver sparkle accenting, not to mention a superb employment of strong Grover Imperial tuners and a wraparound bridge, the G6128 ’62 Jet is aching to hit the stage and turn heads while doing so.
Premium wood appointments
Top to bottom, the G6128 ’62 Jet utilizes only the finest organic building blocks. Donning Gretsch’s double-cut Jet profile introduced in ’61, the body of this Custom Shop instrument showcases the Jet lineup’s intrinsic chambered mahogany engineering for tried-and-true weight relief and subtle natural resonance enhancement. Its laminated maple top boasts a stunning veneer of striped Tasmanian blackwood, matched beautifully at the Falcon-/Penguin-style jumbo headstock. Marvelously roasted flame maple makes up the Stock C-shaped neck with phenomenal flair, overlaid with glidingly smooth, rich ebony with Neo-classical inlays for unbeatable command.

Straight to the sonic point
The bold and unhindered sonic mission of the G6128 ’62 Jet is unlike any pro-line Gretsch we here at Sweetwater have ever gotten a glimpse of — and it’s about time we saw one! With a single Dogear P-90 pickup in the bridge position, the streamlined sound of this Jet is rich in that warm, full, and aggressive single-coil tone that so many have come to cherish over the years. One Master Volume control is all you’ll need to level this P-90’s bitey intensity, rendering this beautiful axe perfect for the aesthetically intelligent favorer of a wide range of genres, from stripped-back blues and folk-rock to the high-energy delivery of pop, alternative, or punk. If you can match energy, this guitar will happily oblige!
Dependable and finely detailed
Let’s face it: this 6-string is asking for intensity, so it’s good to know that its premier hardware will have your back under every circumstance. Intonation accuracy for stage performances and musical consistency while tracking is all but guaranteed with an outfit of Grover Imperial tuning machines, a zero fret, a real bone nut, and a wraparound bridge down at the body. And you’ll bask in not only remarkable playability but also remarkable style to match! Silver sparkle binding enhances the unique double-cut silhouette of the G6128 ’62 Jet, all the way up the fingerboard to the truss rod cover, T-top inlay, and around the headstock. Ornamented with a silver teardrop pickguard and a classic Arrow knob, this Jet is the definition of “easy on the eyes.”
