Reviews

Takamine I received is great.
Received today plays great.
90% of a Shure SM58 for 1/8th the cost!
I am sold on these inexpensive but rugged and great sounding mics! So I've been professionally gigging since my youth in the 80's- mostly small local clubs and private parties as a solo or duo guitar/vocal acts. These days though I've been dabbling in playing with some friends of mine in a local band- none of them has gear that they've kept maintained so I stepped up and bought a reasonable 8 channel box powered mixer and some extra mic stands to go with my current speakers to accommodate our four piece band. I still have my trusty Shure SM58 from the 1980-s and it is really the perfect 100% mic and there are good reasons it is the industry standard to this day. Nice and clean and shimmering in the mid and low ranges so perfect for my baritone vocal range. But NO WAY am I buying another 6 of those mics at $ a pop for our garage band! So I bought these Behringer XM1800S, $ for a three pack, and couldn't be happier! Really, anyone who can just pull the sliders down a little in the mid range frequencies of their mixer EQ can match 90% of the Shure SM58 as we do easily- the rest of the magic is up to the musicians! Really happy I chose these over their sisters, the XM8500's, since those don't have on/off switches, something you really need when you move these mics around since they do make a lot more handling noise than the shure SM58's when moving them off the stands when still live. Really you can't go wrong with these babies if you need to buy a fleet of cheap but good, indestructible, and reliable mics for those occasional larger gigs-Rock on fellow senior citizens!

4 years going
still going strong also :)
Music background: drums
Really Great for the price
The quality of these r amazing, it has a preset eq? for the mics & they show it so i & decided to use these as tom mics since ive been using temu ones for months
Music background: Drummer
Bang for the buck
I like these mics for live sound, or for band practice. They feel robust and I haven't seen any distortion with loud singing. They don't seem to feedback easily either, which is great. I wouldn't use them in the studio to record vocal tracks or anything, but I think they could be an interesting choice for micing a guitar cab or recording drums.
