A Headphone Guitar Amp System Like No Other

Practice just got real with the Waza-Air wireless headphone amplifier system from BOSS. Waza-Air combines the company's cutting-edge wireless technology, groundbreaking spatial technology, and premium sounds from its Katana amplifier series into a personal practice system unlike any other we’ve seen at Sweetwater. Waza-Air’s studio-quality headphones and low-latency WL-T wireless transmitter offer unmatched audio quality, and its innovative 3D algorithms inject life and space back into your headphone practice sessions by simulating three unique performance environments. Featuring five customizable amp combinations and over 50 tweakable effects, Waza-Air gives you incredible control over your tone, for nearly limitless creative exploration.

Cut the cables, keep the sound

Equipped with technology from the renowned BOSS WL series of wireless guitar transmitters, Waza-Air gives you the freedom to rock out without worrying about getting tangled up in a nest of cords. And, with ultra-low latency levels and premium sound, cutting the cables doesn’t mean sacrificing audio quality. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, Waza-Air provides up to five hours of continuous use for extended jam sessions. Want to play along with your favorite songs? Waza-Air is Bluetooth compatible, so that you can stream from any mobile device, and control volume and playback right from Waza-Air’s built-in controls.

Hyper-realistic 3D environments

Headphone amps are great for when you want to sit down for long solo practice sessions or for playing into the wee hours without annoying your family, roommates, or neighbors. However, they can lack the visceral feel of playing through an amp in a room. Waza-Air restores that sensation with cutting-edge 3D algorithms that drop you into a virtual performance space. You can choose from three hyper-realistic environments: Surround mode, which offers the immersive experience of playing in a world-class recording studio; Static mode, which uses Waza-Air’s integrated gyro sensor to track your head movements and change the combined amp and room sounds as if you were moving in a physical space; and Stage mode, which simulates performing at a live venue by placing you in front of a virtual backline.

Stage-class amp and effects models

Waza-Air comes packed with five different amp types and over 50 effects based on stage-class Katana amplifiers. Dial up a range of tones from chiming cleans to searing high-gain distortion, and drench them in reverb, delay, or modulation effects, all optimized for Waza-Air’s virtual environments. The amps and effects are fully customizable, and numerous ready-to-play presets can be accessed with the free BOSS Tone Studio application. Crafted the perfect sound? Go ahead and store it to any one of Waza-Air’s six onboard memory slots for future use.

BOSS Waza-Air Features:

Reviews

First home or practice amp that make me want to play more.
I have found the BOSS WAZA-AIR headphones to be the number one item for playing in a "low noise" environment. The WAZA's make me want to play more, so I do. The biggest thing is clearly hearing the guitar, not picks on strings, and how it puts you into the sound. They sound incredible. I have a 73 Twin Reverb, Fender Blues Jr, Deluxe Tone Master, and a Yamaha THR30II. My wife works from home and (understandably) needs things quiet. The Twin and Blues Jr require way to much volume, the Tone Master is clearly able to achieve the tone I like and is my go to when I can "go loud", but I still hear nothing but string noise at the more quiet volumes. I frankly did not connect at all with the THR30ll. It's a very popular but, meh.
The best practice with headphones I had found
There are several situations where I need to practice using headphones. An obvious one is practicing at late (or early) hours at night. Another is a training session I go to once a month. I have never found a sound that I like through headphones. There was always some noise or issues with tone or volume that I couldn't solved. Until now. The Boss Waza Air solve all my problems, plus it allowed me to practice with ease in new places (my balcony is my new favorite) and I only have to bring a wireless unit and, of course, a pair of headphones.

I found the sounds and options of the Waza Air to be perfect for me. As a matter of fact, like the time so much I bought a Katana Air. The versatility of time plus the ability to place the amp or use the stage option to hear all sound as if it where behind you is great.

While I haven't mind the problems of the amp position drifting (it can be recentered easily anyway) I did found a couple of small issues. One is the headphone jack in the headphones. It's only for pairing, not for charging or other uses. I found that somewhat disappointing. Actually, I think it would be better if it wasn't there and pairing could be achieved some other way. The options of changing the tone without the app are a little complicated for me and it means several control in the headphones that together with the jack break the design purity of the hardware.

All in all, I'm delighted with this product. I would recommend it to anyone that has an application for it.

Pretty amazing!
Been playing guitar for about 18 years and have never experienced a headphone system for guitar like the waza air. Upon opening the box I was a little disappointed in the way they system felt...plastic and toy like when compared to other studio headphones I own... But as soon I plugged the little transmitter into my guitar and played a few riffs I was blown away at the huge "in a room" sound that I was hearing and feeling!!!! So sort of witchcraft are in these cans. If you're looking for an amazing and super fun way to practice then don't even hesitate and just buy these...they are that good! Well done Boss!! One gripe though is the ear pads/cups are shallow and my ear basically touches the beautiful huge drivers...not a huge deal though.
Best practice tool yet!
I have had these for over a year and they are absolutely amazing as a practice tool. Prior to these I was using the little VOX headphone amp which is a bit of a horror as you plug it into your guitar, then you have a headphone cable and a mini plug input if you want to play along with a .mp3 file or a youtube lesson. Dealing with the cords everywhere is just a pain. With the Boss unit I get up in the am, grab a coffee, plug in the Waza air and it just WORKS! It connects instantly to both the guitar and my iPad and I'm off and running. This summer I had it at my camp in Maine with my Traveller electric guitar and just had a blast playing in the middle of nowhere with great sound!
A little bit of a beef- I find the 3D surround sound a bit of a gimmick. The first thing I did when trying to get great tone is turn that stuff off, it's just a bit too much. Yes you turn your head and it seems like the amp stays behind you in space, cool I guess but I'm not going to play Wonderwall in front of the mirror and pretend I'm in Oasis. Well probably not. Roland seems to miss the best part of this product in that its a GREAT PRACTICE TOOL, that stuff isn't necessary. Practice and portability should be the focus IMHO.

I would trade all that functionality and the zillion effects in a minute for:
1) the ability to record a rough 30 second file if you stumble on a cool idea
2) A dual charging cable
3) A decent soft case for traveling with it.

For over $ they couldn't provide a proper charging cable? I stole the dual charging cable from my under $ cheapo wireless guitar transmitter and the soft case from my $ Cowin noise cancelling headphones. These are not big brands but they provided proper accessories. Now I can put it in my luggage easily. I would buy these again in a minute because as I said THEY ARE AN EXCELLENT PRACTICE TOOL but c'mon Boss, the profit margin must be huge, you can provide proper accessories. Now I see they offer a hard headphone case for $? Sheesh, get those bean counters under control and make the purchase experience complete for your customers! Still a great product but for that $ you shouldn't need to raid your other gear.

Only way I play anymore!
These are an experience. You have to get the app for the full experience. The sound is so expansive and huge the way it moves around with you. I have never played so much. Bluetooth some backing tracks and it's like standing on a stage. Never got this kind of depth from an amp and cabinet. I wish I could record what goes on in there. It's like being in a different space. "Played it till his fingers bled" The price was scary, but I could not be happier I did it! I want to buy a spare some day.
