A Vintage-spec Masterpiece for Fuzz Fanatics

The Warm Audio Warm Bender re-creates the essence of multiple landmark fuzz benders in one convenient pedal. Immaculately crafted with five NOS germanium transistors, the Warm Bender offers three mighty modes to explore: two classic germanium voices plus a bonus fuzz circuit that uses silicon for a more modern sound and smoother clipping. What’s more, the Warm Bender Fuzz features a sag control that lets you starve the fuzz circuit's voltage for wild results full of sparks, sputter, and fizz. The Warm Bender Fuzz stuffs all these features into a stunning vintage-inspired enclosure rounded out with a durable metal powder finish that’s set for vigorous use.

Three circuits, one device!

From Jeff Beck to Mick Ronson, numerous legendary pros treasured the original circuits that define the Warm Bender Fuzz pedal’s modes. The NOS 76 setting roars with massive volume output and an engulfing presence that slices through any mix. The NOS 75 mode takes you back to primordial metal’s heyday with fiery high-gain saturation that’s been known to burn classic riffs into the memories of millions. Lastly, designers included a silicon mode. Silicon is undoubtedly less traditional than germanium when it comes to vintage fuzz circuits. Still, fuzz fanatics here at Sweetwater find this bonus silicon mode delivers extra headroom and a smoother sound that’s useful for contemporary genres that feature fuzz as a rhythm thickener or an ambient texture.

Warm Audio Warm Bender Fuzz Pedal Features:

  • 2 distinct germanium fuzz circuits re-created in a single stompbox
  • Premium NOS OC76, SFT337, and OC75 germanium transistors fuel real-deal vintage fuzz tones
  • Bonus silicon fuzz circuit packs a modern distortion-like character with reduced clipping and greater headroom
  • True bypass switching wards off impedance sensitivity issues from incoming signal
  • Through-hole PCBs assembled in accordance with classic fuzz design
  • Accepts either a 9V battery or standard 9V DC center-negative power supplies

Reviews

Old School fuzz
I like that it looks like a Bender and uses 9V battery. This makes it easy to slide into your chain (make it first, even before any tuner).

I bought it for the OC75 setting and it does not disappoint. It has that classic sound. The Silicon setting gets very spitty with the Sag slider on.

To me the Big 4 of fuzz is the Bender, the Face, the Muff, and the RAT. This pedal nails the Bender tone.

Why pay a grand for other Mk II clones?
I have been obsessed with getting certain Tone Bender sounds heard on records from the 60s & 70s, but so many pedals I've bought fall short. Not everyone's idea of perfect tone is the same, but I've been trying to replicate Justin Hayward's sound from the Moody Blues album "Seventh Sojourn" [though his studio tone is reportedly a 335-> Marshall Fuzz/Reverb 2021 head -> Vox Ac30, a friend of mine who helped Justin move his equipment before a 70s show swears he used a Marshall Supa Fuzz pedal live].
This pedal from Warm Audio comes really close, especially in the middle "NOS75" position. The SAG circuit sounds great as well! I'm lukewarm about the "NOS76" and "Silicon" settings, but would buy this pedal again for the 75 setting alone!
Just rolling your guitar volume back a hair gives you a huge variety of sounds, like a good Mk II should, plus when the note decays, you can get that slight "kazoo" sound if you want. I can't recommend this pedal highly enough...what a pleasant surprise!

Fuzzy and Warm
Another excellent product from Warm Audio. I can't wait to blend this with the Jet Phaser, Foxy Tone, and Phasor II for super extra cool noise and fun. Best way to use this pedal is to control the volume of guitar, but that's only preference since there are no rules. Build is top notch and the features have several options for the fuzzy lovers.
