A Snappier McCarty Singlecut, Courtesy of Sweetwater’s Guitar Experts
Equipped with select Sweetwater-spec features, this PRS Wood Library McCarty 594 Singlecut tweaks Paul’s vintage-inspired McCarty formula with the crisp tonality of a maple neck. And not just any maple neck — the Wood Library McCarty 594 boasts an ebony-topped figured maple neck, offering an overall livelier response. A nitro-finished mahogany body and a quilt maple 10-Top form this guitar’s core, delivering all the ringing sustain players expect from the set-neck, single-cut formula. Moreover, you also get two PRS McCarty III pickups that modernize the most mythologized dual-coil tones of the 1950s with a touch of modern clarity and definition. It’s all finished off with chrome and brass selections of PRS’s most prestigious hardware, including a 2-piece stoptail bridge and Phase III locking tuners that perform with rock-solid stability.

Bright and snappy figured maple neck
On many classic PRS designs, a mahogany neck is all but a prerequisite — for good reason, too, as it’s served as one of the guitar’s premier tonewoods since the instrument was first electrified. However, as Sweetwater’s guitar experts are always up for some tonewood experimentation, we’ve spec’d this Wood Library McCarty 594 Singlecut with a gorgeous figured maple neck. Why? Like the maple necks found on PRS's CE24 models, this Wood Library McCarty 594’s figured maple neck features a slightly brighter, crisper response and enhanced neck stability.

Chunky Pattern Vintage neck profile
This guitar’s Pattern Vintage profile clocks in on the chunkier side of the spectrum, featuring a distinct asymmetrical profile that conforms to your grip, from the base all the way to the neck joint. While it’s a thicker shape, it’s by no means clunky — Sweetwater guitarists across all styles have come to favor the Pattern Vintage profile for its comfortably full feel. Combined with the Wood Library McCarty 594 Singlecut’s slightly shorter 24.594-inch scale length, this guitar brandishes a decidedly old-school flavor that’s all but guaranteed to resonate with vintage 6-string enthusiasts.
Dual-coil power, single-coil clarity
Bring forth an onslaught of classic tones thanks to a complement of proprietary PRS pickups. Stationed at the bridge and neck, respectively, are coil-splittable McCarty III treble and bass humbuckers, which were first seen on the limited-run Private Stock 40th Anniversary McCarty Dragon guitar. The McCarty III neck pickup delivers plenty of rich, full-bodied vintage warmth. Throaty but clear, the McCarty III bridge pickup conversely produces a crisp, chimey, clean tone that’s easy to pull grit from with the Volume knob or aggressive pick attack. When overdriven, the tone of both pickups thickens while still remaining articulate, perfect for complex chords or searing lead lines. Not satisfied? Pull up on either Tone pot for instantaneous single-coil action!
