Lush Analog Authenticity, Slightly Enhanced in All the Right Ways

Warm Audio’s WA-C1 stereo chorus/vibrato pedal conjures up boutique analog modulation that few pedals can match, save for the rare vintage pedals that inspired Warm Audio’s homage. The WA-C1 is rife with premium features, starting with an analog preamp that lets you juice guitar signals for an ultra-responsive feel that bristles with midrange detail and a hint of bite — the preamp is virtually its own effect! The WA-C1 provides separate Chorus and Vibrato control sections, plus separate mode and bypass footswitches that let you toggle between both effects on the fly. When it comes to tone, this is bucket brigade performance at its finest. There’s no emulation, just lush, organic modulation that only happens when vintage-spec parts are meticulously sourced. Stereo outs bring opportunities to revel in the warmth and width of stereo modulation. What’s more, Warm Audio adds a hi-Z switch to the rear panel, which means the WA-C1 can handle any guitar pickups as well as keyboards and other instruments. Lastly, Sweetwater’s pedal hounds appreciate that Warm Audio tests each unit carefully in the USA to make sure each unit is ready to wow customers like you.

Out-of-time spatial sculpting for guitar and beyond

Contrasting its humble yet sleek housing, Warm Audio’s WA-C1 offers a suite of sonic contouring that transcends both time and instrumentation. Where vintage pedals faced limitations where modulation, the LFO’s shape and speed, and the BBD chip’s delay time converged, the WA-C1 shatters those boundaries to support finer, nuanced control of the depth and dimensionality of your spatial contouring without sacrificing the hallmark analog warmth. Its expanded palette of chorus hues begins with a ‘70s-style shade, often considered to be a “darker” form of the effect popularized by the lush, modulated tones of the era. With the hi-Z engaged, you’re instantly jumping through time to the maximalist panache of the 1980s: shimmering harmonics, expanded upper-mid and treble frequencies, and a crystalline character that screams arena rock. But tone-crafting opportunities for the heightened input sensitivity don’t stop at stadium-worthy sound shaping, as this setting lets you amplify the headroom and clarity of the pedal’s tone profile, even when modulation is at a minimum. Plus, the true stereo output lets you dial in a slew of three-dimensional vibrato effects, from subtle rotary-style guitar effects to Leslie-inspired electric keys, making the WA-C1 as formidable with the strings as the ebonies and ivories.

Warm Audio WA-C1 Features:

  • All-analog circuitry packed with true BBD performance and 3 premium Texas Instruments op-amps
  • Achieve richer, wider tones with stereo outputs
  • Bypass and mode selector footswitches provide greater hands-free control onstage
  • Drive levels with an analog preamp complete with a peak indicator for monitoring signal quality
  • hi-Z switch adapts to different pickups and alternate sound sources, such as keyboards
  • Hand-tested in Austin, TX, for quality assurance

Reviews

Beautiful chorus!
I'd been on the market for a really great Chorus pedal for a very long time. It's not a pedal I use often and when I do there's a quality to a Chorus that has always driven me bonkers and that is just how shrill they can sound. I've had several Chorus pedals over the years but I never had one that didn't send a chill up my spine. Until now.
Warm Audio is not just a name. There is a warmth to their products that I think is missing from other manufacturers. I currently own their Chorus pedal and the Throne of Tone. Unreal the warmth of both these pedals.
The Chorus is a simple one, easy controls, and yet is smooth, not shrill, and instead of jumping to the forefront of your sound, it genuinely complements it adding depth and character. Unlooked for was the Vibrato side of the pedal. Never been a Vibrato guy, and now I use it almost as much as the Chorus. More subtle than the chorus side, but deep and clear. This is one pedal that shocked the living daylights out of me with just how good it is, but it also gave me EXACTLY what I was looking for in the Chorus. It gave me even more with the Vibrato. Only thing I can say that is bad about it is the ungodly bright led lights. Holy Wow are they bright. Stand outside at night and the crew on the ISS space station will notify Houston that they can see them bright. I put a piece of tape over them.
This Is It
This is the chorus pedal I've been searching for.
So cool
This pedal rules. Chorus and vibrato sounds range from subtle to lush, and even sickening (in a good way). Turning up the drive yields fantastic saturation.

The lights are, as others have said, a biiiiit bright. Blinding, one might say.

Badass chorus
This is the best chorus pedal I've ever played. This is also has the best vibrato I've ever heard with my own ears. Seriously I know this sounds ridiculous but this is my favorite pedal I've ever bought in my life. It's like 3 pedals in one overdrive/boost chorus and vibrato. And if you dime the level knob on the high setting it can seriously be an overdrive just on its own and that's not even going into a super pushed amp. It's expensive yeah, but if you think about it you're getting 3 badass pedals in one and it's all analog. 100% would recommend; desert island pedal for sure.

Wow
Kinda blew my mind, put it anywhere and it sounds great. The high/low switch works wonders, I leave it on the high setting. My only gripe is the lights are blinding, so I taped them, other than that great pedal.
