Twin-horned Attitude, Full-force Aggressive Tone

There are no sonic limits with the ESP LTD Viper-256 solidbody electric guitar! Whether you play rock, metal, blues, or punk, the LTD Viper-256 has the tone you're after; that's because ESP loaded this super-versatile double-cutaway guitar with ESP-designed LH-150 humbucking pickups with onboard coil splitting. These fire-breathing pickups are perfectly paired with the naturally warm and harmonically rich sound of a mahogany body and neck. Throw in a rock-solid TOM bridge assembly for added stability, and you get outstanding sound and performance with the ESP LTD Viper-256 from Sweetwater.

Break the speed limit with this Viper-style axe

ESP Viper-style guitars are built for fast playing. When you pick up the LTD Viper-256, you'll know exactly what we mean. The LTD Viper-256's offset waist gives you the kind of comfort that lets you play for hours, whereas the double-cutaway design provides easy access to the upper frets both over and under the neck.

ESP-designed pickups offer an array of tonal textures

ESP gave the LTD Viper-256 a wide variety of tones by loading it up with a set of ESP-designed LH-150 pickups. These well-rounded humbuckers can be used for anything from straight-up rock to smooth blues and molten-hot metal. Pull up on the LTD Viper-256's Tone control, and you'll instantly go from humbucker to single-coil mode, opening up a whole new range of sounds.

Reviews

Great guitar
After playing every other "SG" style guitar in my price range, I took a chance and went with the only one that I didn't try. I am so glad that I did. This thing plays great right out of the box. It feels way more expensive than it was, and even the stock pickups sound decent. If you're on the fence, just go for it. It's a really nice guitar.
Music background: Punk, hardcore, metal
Love this guitar
As someone who struggles with shoulder pain, this thing plays perfectly for me. The next naturally points away from you when standing, and balances perfectly when sitting. I've played guitars 3x more expensive and prefer this! 10/10.
made me a believer
I often find the praise of budget guitars to be overblown. You can get a lot of guitar for not a lot of money these days, but it almost always requires some TLC. It doesn't make it not a good guitar, but you have to put in some time and effort. Fret polishing, truss rod adjustment, nut filing, intonation, the list goes on. I kept trying to find things to tweak on this guitar and each time found that it simply wasn't necessary. I was especially impressed with the fret polish job. No spots where bends felt "sandpapery" like on nearly every other guitar in this price range. I would've been pleased with the guitar even if I had to do some small work on it, but it's insane that I didn't have to.

Other notes for prospective buyers:
Pickups are very hot (part of their charm)
bound fretboard is sweet
Olympic white finish is a perfectly creamy off-white
coil split sounds pretty good! (it's not stratty or anything, but it's a unique sound that I dig)
Can be had in a low weight (mine was 7lb6oz)
Fantastic for the price
Excellent guitar for the price
