Effortless, Optimized Interface for Podcasters

While any interface is sure to get the job done, why trust your podcast projects to anything other than an interface designed for precisely that? Enter the Focusrite Vocaster Two, a USB interface delivering crystal-clear audio with several features onboard to fine-tune your sound to perfection. At first glance, the Vocaster Two may seem like any other portable interface; however, deeper inspection reveals several incredible features setting this interface apart from others in its class. On the surface, the Vocaster Two boasts a gain knob with over 70dB on tap alongside a volume knob for dialing in perfect monitor and headphone levels. Where the Vocaster Two really starts to really shine is with regard to its onboard buttons, with Auto Gain and Enhance functions for each channel to bring out the best in every word and a handy Mute button for cutting out pesky sounds before being recorded. Flip around back, and you'll encounter several connectivity options, including Bluetooth and TRRS for connecting to phones, a TRS input for connecting cameras, and more. Kick your podcast recording quality up more than a few notches with the Focusrite Vocaster Two!

Optimize your sound straight from the source

Not only does the Vocaster Two make recording podcasts a breeze, but Focusrite loaded this interface with a handy set of buttons tailor-made to give your recordings that studio shine from the source. To start, the Vocaster Two supplies more than a whopping 70dB of gain, compatible with a wide range of microphones without the need for a booster. With the Auto Gain function, setting gain levels for either mic is a cinch — just push the button, start talking, and Vocaster Two will handle the rest! The Enhance function offers three different podcaster-focused presets, each tailor-made to bring out more of the natural qualities of your voice. Whenever unwanted noises are creeping into the signal, a handy Mute button silences all sound sources in an instant, ensuring audiences can focus on your content without distractions.

Made for more than just mics

One of the Vocaster Two's calling cards that perked up the ears of Sweetwater's podcasters and recording experts is the numerous connectivity options on board. Not only do you get standard XLR inputs for microphones, but Bluetooth and TRRS connectivity also allow you to connect phones and other compatible devices directly to the Vocaster Two to record conversations, songs, and more. Working with camera audio? Simply connect your camera to the Vocaster Two via a single TRS cable to optimize your sound before hitting the editing stage. And with the Stereo Loopback function, grabbing audio from your computer for intros and outros is easier than ever.

Reviews

Outstanding Piece of Gear
Very good experience with this piece of gear so far. Great experience with Sweetwater as well. Thanks for the Candy too!
Functionally the Best Podcaster Interface I Could Find
I struggled finding my older brother, who's a journalist/content creator, an audio interface to record his content on. Going through the endless list of interfaces that are mostly tailored to musician needs, finding this Vocaster Two was a miracle. Both XLR inputs are adequately snug for cables. The bluetooth feature that allows users to record signal from an external device (i.e. a phone call for a phone-in interviewee) works perfectly, and the auto-gain feature comes in clutch for users who aren't as knowledgeable about gain staging. Big bro is very happy with this interface. Two thumbs up, Focusrite!

Special thanks to my sales engineer, Joe Perrone. He always sees to it that I have a seamless experience shopping here.
High utility in a small package
I did not buy this for podcasting. I like to jam online via platforms like Jamkazam and Sonobus. When I travel, it's nice to stay connected with my online musician friends. I've been looking for a good portable solution for my Surface laptop (which has an ARM processor). I tried an iRig solution first. It is smaller, but alas, there is no ARM ASIO driver for it. The Vocaster has no such issue.

The channels are labeled Host and Guest, but they could just as easily be 1 and 2. It is super easy to operate, and the sound quality is generally noise-free if you keep the gain away from maximum.

I plugged a dynamic mic into the Host channel, and my ukulele bass goes through a small DI box into the Guest channel. A pair of headphones later, and I'm cooking with gas.

I deducted a 1/2 point because the latency could be a bit better. Some interfaces get down to the 4ms range; this one sits around 7ms, which isn't bad.
Easy to use, but dim display
I was intimidated by the whole idea of an interface, but the Vocaster Two is so easy, even a novice can use it. The main drawback on this is that in a bright studio environment, the DIM LEDs are all but worthless and you need to monitor yourself using the desktop app. For that reason, I subtracted half a star.

If you're like a lot of the recording engineers here at Sweetwater, then you probably grew up with stories of the legendary Focusrite Forte console and its ISA preamps. Our relationship with Focusrite is extremely tight, and we regularly enjoy everything from the inside scoop on new gear to fish and chips when they stop by Sweetwater. While Focusrite still produces the classic analog preamps, EQs, and compressors we love, our Sales Engineers are just as excited to introduce our customers to their remarkable RedNet network audio platform, and we have worked with Focusrite to outfit studios, churches, venues, and schools with this awesome technology in action. From everyday audio interfaces to full system designs, if you want Focusrite gear, Sweetwater has you covered.
