Custom Button for Your Stompbox

Have you ever stomped on a guitar pedal without shoes on? We have here at Sweetwater, and we'll tell you: IT HURTS! And sometimes, in the heat of a performance, you miss the switch altogether. After all, they're not that big. So what do you do? Get a custom button from Barefoot Buttons and fit it onto your stompbox. These easy-to-install buttons work with most major switches and triggers and are guaranteed to improve comfort and accuracy. They look pretty cool, too!

Frequently Asked Questions:

What version Barefoot Button do I need for my pedal?

Barefoot Buttons come in version 1 and version 2. Version 1 fits common 3PDT switches (3/8" / 10mm). Version 1 Big Bore fits larger 3PDT switches up to (7/16" / 11.1mm). Version 2 fits common SPST tap switches (5/16" / 8.5mm).

Will a version 1 button work on a version 2 switch?

Yes, it will, but it's not recommended. It's not an optimal fit, and the button may not perform reliably.

What is the diameter of a Barefoot Button?

Most version 1 and version 2 models, including the Tallboy, have a diameter of about 1-1/8" (28.5mm). The Mini models have a diameter of 3/4" / 19mm.

How tall is the Tallboy?

The Tallboy is about 7/8" (22.2mm) tall. It will raise the switch height about 1/2" (12.7mm).

Barefoot Buttons Version 1 Features:

  • Customized switch button for your effects stompbox
  • Improves comfort and accuracy
  • Fits common 3PDT switches (3/8" / 10mm)
  • Includes 5/64" Allen wrench for installation

Reviews

Great stuff
You have to make sure you get the right fit though
These are good buttons. If you are careful.
1) work with good light and put down cloth as these parts are small and there are no spares.

2) insert the set screws and screw in until they are flush with the inside hole

3) place the button on the switch head and press the button down

4) while holding the button down lightly tighten all three screws equally until snug. your
goal is to have all three screws equal so the button will center on the switch.

5) then tighten firmly but RESIST THE URGE to overtighten

The screw is steel and the button is aluminum. Dissimilar metals! Use a
tiny (tiny) amount of lube (Parktools ACS-1 is the best) anytime you put
a steel screw in aluminum or vice versa.

Some of the set screws get cranky as the threads are not machine shop
tolerance. Take your time and if the screw stops back it out and try again with the
lube.

My usage was on some pedals that I keep on the tabletop and switch with my hands.

Overall good product but pricey.

Why didn't I think of this?
These little guys make life easier and wayyy less painful. Make for those who jamb in their socks or bare feet or constantly hunt for pedal switches on your boards. I wish I'd have thought of this! Handy, well made, easy on the feet for sure! And a wide range of vibrant anodized colors. They match Strymon pedals particularly well.
Pretty rad little bit of gear
This thing really does make it much more comfortable to hit the foot switch on my Big Muff when I'm jamming barefoot. Just make sure you get the right size and that you keep it tight as it does tend to loosen up after a while, depending on how much vibration it's subjected to.
