Powerful, Prismatic Possibilities Await
Variations of Schecter’s Ultra offset have found homes amidst the Cure’s Robert Smith, Rob Zombie’s Riggs, and bassist Simon Gallup’s signature Spitfire, alongside numerous guitar and bass production models that run the gamut of string count, pickup quantity, active/passive design, and further performance features. It’s safe to say that the Ultra is a kaleidoscopic canvas of audiovisual-aesthetic possibilities, and the Schecter Ultra Przym delivers one of the most striking works yet. This iteration of the offset emerges as the result of Schecter’s collaboration with Przym, designers of the anodized aluminum top that features a captivating baroque-inspired pattern, collectively dubbed Mercury Rose. Sweetwater’s Guitar Shop is delighted to report that Schecter’s historic penchant for pairing performance and panache is on full display with the compound-radius Ultra Przym, as Schecter has spared no effort in outfitting this eye-grabbing axe with a ferocious foundation. Armed with a 3-piece neck, carbon fiber reinforcement rods, and an explosive pair of Pasadena USA powerhouses, the Schecter Ultra Przym is a masterclass of audiovisual elegance. Are you ready to step up your setup?
Built for serious sonic support
Beneath the metal top’s beastly brace of blood-hued, baroque-inspired rose beds, Schecter built the Ultra Przym to deliver sonic haymakers with the best of them, and what could be more important than a formidable foundation? Its mahogany body anchors your tones to a broad yet balanced blend of blooming overtones, shimmering harmonics, and midrange heft, supplying ample overtones and powerful projection. Thanks to the guitar’s set-neck construction, these aural qualities are only amplified by the matching mahogany neck, resonating to invoke immense depth and dimensionality. Up top, an ebony fretboard completes the tonewood twosome, revered for its enduring sustain, bell-like clarity, and uncompromising articulation, delivering precision and presence throughout every register.

Schecter USA-crafted haymakers
Although the Schecter Ultra Przym would look right at home displayed in a museum, this playable piece of art is anything but artifice. Building on its aural architrave, dynamism, definition, and diversity abound with the dual Schecter USA Pasadena humbuckers. Each metal-covered machine features ferocious Alnico V magnets, capable of conjuring heavy-metal haymakers and crystal clear clean tones in equal measure, between the bridge-mounted Pasadena Plus and the neck-mounted Pasadena Classic. With plenty of headroom and organic tone-preserving properties, these pickups push passive-design pliability to its limits without thinning out. Volume controls for each pickup are joined by a 3-way toggle and a Master Tone knob, with the latter hosting a push-pull coil split, collectively expanding the Ultra Przym’s aural aperture to give you a wealth of tone-crafting tenacity right at the source.
Forged with finesse and engineered for excellence
Luxe looks and striking sounds abound, and Schecter’s luthiers constructed the Ultra Przym to provide unfettered access to its suite of sonic sculpting. For starters, the neck was built to simultaneously reduce weight, minimize fatigue, and increase both dimensional stability and harmonic complexity, leading Schecter to utilize carbon fiber reinforcement rods to undergird the neck’s 3-piece construction. This augmented resilience to twisting and warping makes the Ultra Przym a robust road warrior, with its Thin C-shaped neck profile topped by a fretboard that boasts a compound 12–16-inch radius. Add to this the comfort-focused body contouring, satin-finished neck, and elegant treble-side cutaway, and the Ultra Przym is primed to provide speed, precision, and control over all 22 hard-wearing stainless steel frets. Schecter locking tuners and a Hipshot hardtail bridge bookend the axe’s 24.75-inch scale, with further sonic support owed to the bridge’s string-through-body design and the Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut. Everything culminates in a resounding, buzz-free, and sonorous 6-string that marries audiovisual aesthetics into a multidimensional machine — this is the Schecter Ultra Przym.
