Part Charvel. Part Jackson. 100% Awesome.

The Charvel USA Select DK24 melds the best characteristics of two guitar icons into a high-performance instrument. Benefit from a lightweight, contoured alder Jackson Dinky body, while a 2-piece Charvel graphite-reinforced Speed Neck supplies a rock-solid platform for your fretboard pyrotechnics. Speaking of which, the USA Select DK24 boasts Charvel’s familiar 12"–16" compound-radius fingerboard, along with a scalloped lower back bout for effortless access to hard-to-reach upper frets. Dual Seymour Duncan humbuckers deliver everything a modern player could ask for — metal, fusion, prog, and beyond. The USA Select DK24 features a recessed Gotoh tremolo, Luminlay side dots, and an EVH Bourns low-friction volume pot — it’s 100% armed to the teeth.

Iconic Jackson body style

Grover Jackson’s Dinky body style is to hard rock and metal what the Camaro is to drag racing. Contoured and lightweight, the Dinky provides the hardline visuals, comfortable carry, and unlimited high-fret access that modern players demand.

Diverse Seymour Duncan pickup set

If you’re a single-guitar performer like many of us at Sweetwater, you’ll particularly love the USA Select DK24’s diverse tonal potential. For drive, the Full Shred SH-10 bridge humbucker packs a big, focused low end and about as much sustain as you can get from a passive alnico pickup. And when you need to clean up, the Alnico II Pro APH-1N neck humbucker is a breath of fresh air. This pickup boasts great touch dynamics and a sweet, bluesy top end that’s perfect for true cleans and verge-of-breakup tones. Beyond that, 5-way switching gives you access to a myriad of irresistible sonic textures. The USA Select DK24 includes an EVH Bourns low-friction volume pot and no-load tone control.

Gotoh Custom 510 tremolo

The recessed Gotoh Custom 510 tremolo bridge sits nice and flush with the USA Select DK24’s body to provide texture when you need it, and a relatively low profile when you don’t. This vintage-style tremolo system keeps tuning stable, even for all-out dives.

Fast, stable, comfortable reinforced maple neck

The USA Select DK24’s neck and fingerboard are spec’d to meet the demands of the technical player. The Charvel Speed Neck is built from two pieces of caramelized maple and graphite reinforced for a lifetime of rock-solid dependability. A heel-mounted spoke wheel facilitates speedy truss rod adjustments, while four heavy-duty bolts provide superior sound transmission from the neck to body. Fretside, the compound-radius fingerboard flattens out to an arrow-straight 16" in the upper registers and comes fitted with 24 jumbo frets for maximum speed and control. What’s more, a scalloped lower back bout ensures easy upper access to this guitar’s fingerboard, while Luminlay side dots provide easy visibility on the darkest of stages.

Charvel USA Select DK24 HH 2PT CM Features:

  • Iconic Jackson Dinky alder body with scalloped lower bout provides unlimited fret access
  • 2-piece caramelized maple Speed Neck is fast and stable
  • Heel-mounted spoke wheel facilitates speedy truss rod adjustments
  • 12"–16" compound-radius fingerboard is built for speed and comfort

Fantastic Guitar

What a great guitar, could not be happier! I've had this guitar for a couple of months now and it has become my favorite guitar and I have some pretty good ones. I did make a couple of modifications to it, I added a Tremel-No and a Trebel Bleed to it and it is great! Wish I would have bought one years ago.

Give it a shot

A pro-level guitar that feels great, sounds great, and looks great. One of the best necks ever played. Although tonally it can keep up, this is not a San Dimas or a SoCal or an Ibanez RG. IMO, this guitar feels and plays like something a old acid-rock guitarist from the 60's or early 70's would use today on a revival tour. Over-the-top sophistication and responsiveness. Honestly, this guitar makes one play better. Furthermore, something important was learned with this purchase. You really do get what you pay for. It is pricey (imo) but so much better than my other 14 guitars except for the Kiesel.

I didn't give this guitar a 5 star rating because, even though Plek'd by Sweetwater, the action is comparatively a little high and can't be adjusted further without getting an unacceptable amount of fret buzz. However, the action isn't "high" and I believe the height actually makes for more accurate/better playing.

Charvel’s attempt at the Ibanez AZ market.

Well it looks and feels just like the Ibanez AZ models. I think it sounds nicer due to the pickups and the neck is a bit flatter due to the radius. The neck is also thinner and feels less cumbersome. It is a Well built guitar and the neck feels nice. I wish the action was lower, this seems to be a lazy setup trend with almost every manufacturer lately, yes even Suhr and Ibanez. It is possible to get great tones with low action and I just don’t understand guitars shipping to me with high action. Why make things harder on the hands? Anyway, the only thing I also am not liking about these new Suhr clones is that they all have stiff high tension string feel like an acoustic guitar. I don’t quite understand why this is becoming a desired trait in electrics? The strings are harder to bend and respond like piano wire. Overall a decent guitar but I just couldn’t bond with it. Stiff and cold with unfriendly action.
