Hit the Stage with Wireless In-ear Monitoring

Enjoy the onstage freedom that in-ear monitors provide, with the Xvive Audio U4 wireless in-ear monitoring system. Connect a line-level monitor mix from a return on your stage snake (or from a mixer, music player, or computer) to the U4 wireless transmitter, then connect your choice of headphones or in-ear monitors to the compact receiver. A large volume knob makes it easy to adjust the volume without looking down at the receiver. And with five hours of battery life, over 90 feet of wireless range, and less than 5ms of latency, Sweetwater can highly recommend the Xvive Audio U4 in-ear monitoring system for single-channel applications in small venues.

Xvive Audio U4 Features:

  • 2.4GHz wireless in-ear monitoring system with transmitter and beltpack receiver
  • Transmitter has an XLR input for easy connection to a return on your stage snake
  • 90+ ft. of range (with clear line-of-sight) is perfect for small clubs and venues
  • Less than 5ms of latency for distraction-free performance
  • 5 hrs. of battery life, plenty to get you through a show
  • Large knurled volume knob makes it easy to adjust loudness without looking down at the receiver

Reviews

Preliminary review
Just received and used the Xvive U4 yesterday on stage at our church. These are indispensable tools especially when you are not standing right next to your personal mixer. The system is extremely small but sturdy. A quality built product. Mixer is near a wall so you would be well served to get an angled 1/4 female to 1/4 male adapter so the transmitter stands upright. Together with my wireless guitar system, I have unlimited freedom on stage. Hopefully I am just as pleased with the U4 a year from now.
Music background: Non professional but play bass on stage in a worship team.
Right!
I have spent over 12 years in praise teams as a bassist, at the churches the use of high end transmitters and pack systems became the norm and I use UE11 in-ears for accurate audio. I first tested the Xvive at a rehearsal with the classic rock band I belong to, through a Mackie DL32S digital board, and used the UE11 in-ears with the Xvive U4 system. These are every bit a high end system and have enhanced the bands performance bringing the stage volume down. Last night at rehearsal, the Keybordist/Lead Vocal asked for a set after the Guitarist was able to bring down his volume and hear all input through headphones. I definitely recommend the use of the Xvive U4 system.

Good bang for the buck
I was hesitant to buy these as you usually get what you pay for. I have had zero issues with the sound quality, battery life and connectivity in 2 years of use. That's around 80 shows of 3 hours duration. Don't forget to charge them! My only issues are: The volume knob can be accidentally turned down when in use. In keep it at full volume and adjust at the board, but I've bumped the volume wheel on accident. I've also bumped the channel selector and been switched to a different channel. It only happened once but my keyboard player uses these as well and I ended up on his channel so the mix went screwy and it took a minute to figure out that's what happened. I bought the optional hard case and that was a good call, keeps them safe and secure. It's possible to accidentally hit the on/off button so the case keeps them off when stored. Invest in good ear buds, that is where the difference is most notable. If I get a couple more years out of these I'd say money well spent.
Wish these existed years ago…
For the price, and to save my ears from the constant ringing of my drummers cymbals, I decided that it was time to try them out myself. I was amazed how small and compact they were get sturdy in their casing. I charged them up fairly quickly and when I showed up at the gig that evening I plug them into the board and it connected fairly quickly.

The only problem that I found is if you have wires on a PA board that are covering or near or in proximity to the antenna it might color the signal if you're far enough away. My other guitar player suggested that I use a separate XLR connection and bring the antenna closer to my side of the stage which helped immensely. I was still able to wander about the room and heard everything crystal clear as well as end of the night without that constant ringing in my ears.

I'm such a huge fan of these then after I told my bandmates about them, they all decided to invest in them as well. We have always had too much on stage clutter including monitors to hear each other and at the end of the night it tends to get quite loud. I wish these were invented years ago as I wouldn't have hesitated to buy them even in my high school days.

Thanks,

Tom D.

The missing piece of the puzzle
We only bought one. My wife leads worship and I help her. We have all the floor monitors, but if she moved, she struggled hearing. The IEM moves with her and has helped her with voice control. Glad we made the purchase.
