USA-made Nick Johnston Signature

Searching for a traditional-styled guitar with top-shelf performance? Then pick up this Schecter USA Signature Nick Johnston Traditional — it’s a beast. Experience copious resonance and sustain, thanks to a lightweight alder body. Enjoy over-the-top playability, courtesy of a Custom C-shaped wenge neck, which sports an ebony fingerboard with Jescar premium German silver frets. Plug this guitar into your favorite amp, and you’ll be greeted with pristine, hot-rocking tone, by virtue of its Nick Johnston Signature Atomic single-coil pickups. Beyond that, a 5-way pickup selector, plus master tone and volume controls, supply diverse tone-shaping configurations. A vintage 2-point tremolo and locking tuners complete the USA Signature Nick Johnston Traditional.

Neck designed for play

Nick Johnston burst onto the progressive rock scene in the past decade as a young, visionary player who drew on many styles to produce truly innovative sounds and melodic instrumentals. He is known for his incredible neck work, and the USA Signature Nick Johnston Traditional features a Custom C-shaped wenge neck that is ideal for exploring the type of aggressive artistry Johnston has become known for. The ebony fingerboard with 22 Jescar premium German silver frets produces wonderful intonation and is smooth and responsive. And really cool silver ring fingerboard inlays add an enticing visual to this already stunning neck.

Three single-coil pickups deliver killer tone

Three Schecter Nick Johnston Signature Atomic single-coil pickups give you a massive array of classic single-coil tone. And with a 5-way pickup selector and master tone and volume controls, you can dial in subtle tone-shaping configurations from clear and singing to gritty and hard-hitting. And a Schecter vintage 2-point tremolo adds stellar tonal support and vibrato coloring to your arsenal. The guitarists here at Sweetwater are impressed by the range of killer sounds that you can coax out of the USA Signature Nick Johnston Traditional.

Schecter Guitar Research — a brief history

Founded in 1976 by David Schecter, Schecter Guitar Research originally produced high-end replacement parts for existing Fender and Gibson guitars. In 1979, the company began producing their own fully-assembled custom shop electric guitars. Schecter guitars quickly garnered a solid reputation as a result of their remarkably high quality, and soon found their way into the hands of such celebrated guitarists as Pete Townshend and Mark Knopfler. Today, Schecter Guitar Research offers electric guitars and basses, acoustic guitars, and USA Custom Shop instruments to musicians around the world in more than 150 countries. The company's current roster of high-profile artists includes Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, The Cure, Papa Roach, Seether, Stone Temple Pilots, Nevermore, and Black Label Society.

Reviews

If you like strat style guitars but don't like the volume knob close to the bridge buy this guitar.
I've always wanted a Fender/Strat style guitar but the volume knob always felt too close to the strings/bridge for my taste. I would unintentionally lower the volume when strumming at times. The volume knob is just a bit further away and it makes all the difference to me. The feel of the neck having a slightly bigger radius feels amazing with the Wenge wood as well. Seriously like butter. The pickups have a great strat sound and sing when I use a bit more gain for solos. I have a few other mid/high end guitars that I play fairly consistently but I literally haven't opened any of their cases since I bout the NJ strat. It's pricey sure but it feels like it costs. I am considering buying another with the humbucker in the bridge position for a more all around sound at some point when my bank account recovers lol. Great guitar!

Also, if you haven't listened to Nick Johnston, check him out. He shreds on this same model and plays the humbucker version while filling in with Mastodon.
