USA-made Nick Johnston Signature

Searching for a traditional-styled guitar with top-shelf performance? Then pick up this Schecter USA Signature Nick Johnston Traditional — it’s a beast. Experience copious resonance and sustain, thanks to a lightweight alder body. Enjoy over-the-top playability, courtesy of a Custom C-shaped wenge neck, which sports an ebony fingerboard with Jescar premium German silver frets. Plug this guitar into your favorite amp, and you’ll be greeted with pristine, hot-rocking tone, by virtue of its Nick Johnston Signature Atomic single-coil pickups. Beyond that, a 5-way pickup selector, plus master tone and volume controls, supply diverse tone-shaping configurations. A vintage 2-point tremolo and locking tuners complete the USA Signature Nick Johnston Traditional.

Neck designed for play

Nick Johnston burst onto the progressive rock scene in the past decade as a young, visionary player who drew on many styles to produce truly innovative sounds and melodic instrumentals. He is known for his incredible neck work, and the USA Signature Nick Johnston Traditional features a Custom C-shaped wenge neck that is ideal for exploring the type of aggressive artistry Johnston has become known for. The ebony fingerboard with 22 Jescar premium German silver frets produces wonderful intonation and is smooth and responsive. And really cool silver ring fingerboard inlays add an enticing visual to this already stunning neck.

Three single-coil pickups deliver killer tone

Three Schecter Nick Johnston Signature Atomic single-coil pickups give you a massive array of classic single-coil tone. And with a 5-way pickup selector and master tone and volume controls, you can dial in subtle tone-shaping configurations from clear and singing to gritty and hard-hitting. And a Schecter vintage 2-point tremolo adds stellar tonal support and vibrato coloring to your arsenal. The guitarists here at Sweetwater are impressed by the range of killer sounds that you can coax out of the USA Signature Nick Johnston Traditional.

Schecter Guitar Research — a brief history

Today, Schecter Guitar Research offers electric guitars and basses, acoustic guitars, and USA Custom Shop instruments to musicians around the world in more than 150 countries. The company's current roster of high-profile artists includes Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, The Cure, Papa Roach, Seether, Stone Temple Pilots, Nevermore, and Black Label Society.

Rated 5/5

What a fantstic guitar, and adore the Wenge neck!

I grabbed an Indonesian NJ and the guitar was awesome. Quality very high, and also looked and felt like a higher priced guitar for sure.
The PRS SE have the same quality, but you can notice is not a high price guitar.
By chance I had a chance to try the USA NJ, and holy ****. Is perfect as expected. PRS Core and Suhr quality for sure.

Even though the Indo NJ is great, what made me just love the USA one is firs the Wenge neck. OMG, what a beauty and the feel as well. The best feeling and looking neck I've ever had for sure.
Also the neck profile was just a perfect fit for me. Is not the same as the Indo. The USA has more meat and is wider as well. I did like the Indo one, I eas expecting actually to feel thinner, but was great, and gave the a more faster feeling kind of neck which I was looking for that.
But the USA OMG!, is more to my liking, feels more like traditional, and just fits so nice to me, and gives me a vibe of a more traditional guitar. Of course you can play fast and traditional stuff in both, but is like the vibe and inspiration it gives you. Also the neck is perfect, like a PRS vibe gave me in a way, like a 1999 McCarty I have, which is great cos I dig that very very much.
Also the color is gorgeous and I prefer the more a bit more vntage kind of tone of the single tones. I did put a humbucker on the USA NJ though.
I sold the Indo NJ and other 2 to get this one, so I like that the USA inspires me to play like any style.
I've had Ibanez AZ before, Suhrs, Shijie, and this is my favorite I think. And is the neck, that just fits me so so well, and this guitar really invites me to grab it and play.
I'm becoming a Schecter fan for sure, and would love to try other models in the future. What great quality.
