A New Spin on the Classic Thump Formula

Mackie’s next generation of Thump loudspeakers is redesigned from the ground up to provide you with enhanced power and utility, all at a wallet-friendly price! The Thump215 loudspeaker’s ultra-efficient 1,400-watt class-D amplifier pushes plenty of air through the high-performance 15-inch woofer — a design that Sweetwater's live sound pros find is more than capable of handling most small- to medium-sized venues. Next, the 1-inch compression driver ensures that your sound is evenly dispersed, allowing the entire crowd to hear your music with crystal-clear quality. There’s even a built-in feedback eliminator to keep everything noise- and rumble-free! Plus, the Thump215 is loaded with flexible I/O power, boasting a versatile 2-channel design that can be set up for music ducking, allowing this loudspeaker to extend its utility outside of standard musical applications into the world of public address and education. Finally, like all Mackie products, the Thump215 is built tough to withstand the rigors of the road, and the unloading crew is sure to appreciate the lightweight 34-pound form factor.

Ultra-efficient class-D power

The Mackie Thump215’s ultra-efficient class-D amplification kicks out a powerful sound that defies this loudspeaker’s modest size! A 15-inch woofer dishes out plenty of low-end punch, and the 1-inch compression driver ensures that your sound is evenly dispersed across the entire venue. Lastly, Mackie’s built-in feedback eliminator all but eradicates unwanted speaker screech and rumble, maximizing your sonic potential and ensuring that your show runs smooth from start to finish.

Portable design for easy setup and transport

Weighing in at less than 35 pounds, the Thump215 is compact and lightweight, making it easy to transport. The Thump215's small and portable size will ensure that you won't need a road crew to mount it on a pole or pack it into your car. What’s more, the Thump215 is housed in a super-tough road-ready enclosure, so don't think that its light weight makes it fragile!

Mackie Thump215 1,400-watt Powered Loudspeaker Features:

  • 1,400W of class-D amplification is more than loud enough for most small- to medium-sized venues
  • 15-inch woofer and 1-inch compression driver deliver a full-range sound with plenty of low end
  • Flexible I/O, versatile 2-channel design, and a through output for a wide range of configurations
  • Music ducking mode is ideal for public address and education settings
  • Angled design is perfect for floor monitoring, but can also be mounted on a standard pole setup
  • Lightweight 34-pound design offers effortless portability
  • Signature Mackie durability to withstand the rigors of the road
  • Built-in feedback eliminator reduces unwanted screech and rumble

Reviews

"Sweetwater Defines Customer Excellence"
While the Mackie Thump is an incredible product, I'm even more impressed by the support behind it. After discovering shipping damage on my unit, I reached out to Sweetwater on 2/26. They immediately honored the warranty, covered all shipping costs, and moved so fast that my speaker will be back in my setup by 3/2. Their efficiency and care are unmatched. Do yourself a favor and buy your gear here—you won't find better support anywhere else.

Deep Sound
Light weight and a deep beefy sound. Using a pair as mains in Classic Rock band.
For a middle of the road speaker they are worth the money!
Outdoor Girl's Camp PA
These Mackie Thump speakers were purchased to be used in an outdoor dining area at a Girl's Camp. They are used for announcements, music payback and for movie night audio.
Right out of the box they sound great, have more than enough power for the large outdoor area they service and they are plug and play. I set the volume straight up (12 o'clock) and they have more than enough headroom to accommodate any situation.
This is the second pair I have purchased for the camp. The first pair lasted seven years and only failed when someone at the camp started the generator in the wrong setting and the over voltage took out both speakers.
I definitely recommend them for indoor small room, medium room public address or anything similar to what we use them for.

Powerful, great fidelity, and lightweight!
A band I play in has a pair of these and they absolutely are powerful for their size. They can handle a full band mix well, with lots of low end thump. I bought a pair myself for my solo acoustic gig and I appreciate the full dynamic range, the ease of setup, and especially the LIGHT WEIGHT. 20 years ago, a powered speaker with this size and power would be a back breaker to carry. These are light, and more importantly, they are balanced, so if you carry it by the 2 side handles with the speaker grill facing you, they are effortless to carry. Lifting them on the speaker stands is not a back killer, either.

Amazing Bang For The Buck!
We are a 7-piece Norteño band that mostly plays small gigs (150-300 attendance, 30-80 people on the dancefloor), and these get the job done. DISCLAIMER - We run a DBX PA2 and only feed these speakers the high signal, so they don't play anything below 180hz. The highs and mids sound very clean, better than the Alto's, in my opinion. I highly recommend these for their price point if you're looking for a budget PA to get started.

However, there are two downsides: 1. The speaker gets hot (we played it a 70% line input for 3 hours non-stop, and the back of the speaker was hot to the touch. It did not turn off, but I would not recommend playing out in the hot sun with these. They might turn off on you to protect themselves. Indoor or shaded gigs only). 2. The pole mount on the bottom of the speaker fits loosely on the speaker poles, and the speaker does not have a knob to secure it from spinning on the pole. Beware of windy gigs; the speaker might rotate on you.
