1,000 Watts of Full-range, Full-frequency, Active Amplification

With its extensive range, flat response, and mighty 1,000-watt onboard power amp, Fender’s Tone Master FR-10 powered guitar cab transforms any digital modeling unit into a gig-ready powerhouse rig. Naturally, the Tone Master FR-10 is a perfect choice to pair with Fender’s Tone Master Pro modeler. However, this cab’s full-range, flat-response speaker setup, comprising a 10-inch driver and a 1-inch wide dispersion high-frequency driver, serves as a blank sonic canvas for a variety of profilers and modelers. Volume is all but an afterthought, thanks to the FR-10’s onboard 1,000-watt power amplifier, and you also get a top-mounted control section with handy Volume and EQ controls. Finally, Sweetwater guitarists can’t help but appreciate how the FR-10’s lightweight black-Tolex plywood enclosure and metal tilt-back legs capture all the vibe and visuals of a traditional Fender amplifier. This brilliant merger of aesthetics and functionality allows you to capture all the best of modern modeling technology with the timeless aesthetics of Fender’s most iconic amplifiers.

Stage-ready 1,000-watt onboard power amplifier

While most digital amp modelers can gig just fine going straight into a PA system, running into a traditional guitar cab is often out of the question without the help of an outboard power amp — just one more thing to lug around to and from the show! To save on space and simplify your setup, Fender’s Tone Master FR-10 powered guitar cabinets come equipped with a massive-sounding built-in 1,000-watt power amplifier that provides more than enough headroom and volume for almost any gig. Not only does this allow you to utilize your digital modeler straight into the Tone Master FR-10 like a traditional guitar amp head, but it also retains all the classic looks that Fender players have favored for decades.

Top-mounted controls for easy tone shaping

So, you’re all set up onstage, your modeler of choice is precisely rigged to accommodate your set list, and something just feels off. Every room is different, so it’s not uncommon to need to dial in a few EQ tweaks to optimize your sound for your respective setting. Sure, you could reach down and twiddle with the controls on your digital modeler, but the Fender Tone Master FR-10 powered cabinet’s onboard EQ controls offer a far more straightforward tone-shaping solution.

Like many of Fender’s most legendary amplifier combos, the Tone Master FR-10 sports a complete control section on its top panel, comprising a 3-band active EQ, a high-frequency Cut knob, and a Volume control. This superb setup offers a traditional amp-like experience of dialing in your tone onstage, removing any need for menu-diving or touchscreen wrangling with the precise and tactile feel of an old-school amp knob.

A versatile tonal canvas

When shopping for a powered cab to pair with your Tone Master Pro or other digital modeling unit, a cab that delivers a blank tonal canvas is a must. After all, your modeler is going to do all the heavy lifting, so it’s only natural to seek out a pure, clean, and uncolored cab that can accommodate everything from classic Fender black-panel cleans to screaming full-stack fury. That’s where the “FR” in the Tone Master FR-10 comes in. This powered cabinet boasts a full-range, flat-response speaker setup of a specially designed 10-inch speaker paired with a 1-inch wide dispersion high-frequency driver — the perfect tonal base to build upon with your favorite digital rigs.

Fender Tone Master FR-10 Features:

  • Full-range, flat-response guitar cabinet designed to pair with Fender’s Tone Master Pro and other digital modeling rigs
  • Massive-sounding 1,000W integrated power amp provides more than enough volume for the gigging guitarist
  • 10-in. Special Design speaker and 1-in. wide dispersion high-frequency driver deliver a clear, flat, and full response that serves as the perfect blank canvas for your favorite digital amp modeler
  • 3-band active EQ and high-frequency Cut control allow you to precisely dial in your tone without adjusting your source signal
  • Cabinet built in the classic Fender amp tradition, with an old-school aesthetic and metal tilt-back legs

Reviews

Simple, easy to use, reliable, and convenient

As a gigging musician I appreciate how simple, easy to use, reliable, and convenient this FRFR cab is.

Works better than floor wedge monitors, and the onboard EQ is a nice touch. Can't tell you how often my sound changes from room to room and how frustrating it gets when it sounds too woofy or shrill/trebly when I haven't changed anything in my modeler or global settings. This is super easy to fix in seconds, and it doesn't affect the signal sent to FOH.

Super lightweight. Modeler and FRFR cab imo beat the old days of lugging around a heavy tube amp and pedalboard.

I don't think there is a better FRFR cab under $. And I would put this above some other FRFR cabs between the $ range.

If you're a gigging musician and you're curious about this… Just get it or thank me later. Or the FR-12. But the size and weight of the FR-10 are great.

Perfect Match to the Tone Master Pro (or any other modeler)
I am thrilled with this amp, which is a perfect complement to the Tone Master Pro. My goto model is the Fender Deluxe Reverb Blonde, and it sounds wonderful through the FR-10. I highly recommend this as your output device for any modeler.
Light, Loud, and Clear

I bought this amp for pairing with my Line 6 Helix Stomp, and in that capacity it performs very well. The Stomp sits nicely on top of the FR-10. The FR-10 weighs about 26 pounds, making it about 10 pounds lighter than the Peavey KB-2 keyboard amp that I used previously for this purpose, and 6 pounds lighter than the Fender Mustang III v.2 that I use for blues shows. It is very loud, and very clear--what you put into it is exactly what you get out of it, only louder (though you can use the three-band EQ to shape the signal further if you like). There is an XLR output on the back panel for taking the signal to a PA, so if it's not loud enough by itself, or you want to record, you can plug it into something even louder.

I bought the FR-10 with a Positive Grid CAB for comparison. The CAB was just about as loud; that's as close as I can get, because Fender claims the FR-10 has 1000 watts output while Positive Grid, clearly using a different scale, rates the CAB at 140 watts. Anyway, they both sounded loud to me. But the CAB had a pronounced bass emphasis, and no EQ controls to deal with it in real time, which in my opinion is not tops. On price, the CAB wins big with a price about $ less than the FR-10. But what does that matter if it doesn't give you the actual sound of the gear? The FR-10 is tops in this price range.

Best FRFR I’ve played - feels like an amp
I've tried a few FRFR's since diving into the modeling world and have always felt a bit underwhelmed. None of them ever felt like they were pushing air like a true amp. That was until I got this. Fender did an excellent job with these speaker, which truly feels like amp. I run a Boss GX-100 into it and it spits out the sound I get in my headphones and feels like a real amp when playing on stage with a band. The feeling part is super important with these FRFR's, which up until I tried this one, had always felt hollow.

The best part of this speaker/amp is that you can further adjust EQ on the amp itself. This came in handy my first gig with it that was outside with horrible acoustics. I was able to adjust the mids and bass levels to get a better sound without having to adjust the global EQ on my GX-100. Additionally, the high/low cut knob is a very nice addition that allows to fine tune your tone.

One final note, if you haven't taken advantage of the open box deals with Sweetwater, you are missing out on some major savings. I got this as an open box slightly blemished model and it was packed perfectly by Sweetwater and in amazing condition. I have no hesitation ordering open box and saving because I've trusted Sweetwater several times now with open box items and know they simply aren't going to send you junk. Thanks to Chris and everyone who makes the magic work.

Surprisingly good
As a long time tube snob, I was prepared to be disappointed. I was not. I have a weekly bar gig and this is a great solution.
Before the gig, I set it up side by side with my trusty Mesa Boogie amp and pedalboard and was able to dial in the same tone using a PodGo with its onboard pedal models. This FR-10 is 10+ lbs lighter in weight and plenty loud enough to compete with the overly loud drummer I have to contend with. The amp and modeler together cost many hundreds of dollars less than a decent tube amp and loaded pedalboard. Lightweight easy load-in and using preset effects vs pedalboard dance make this combination a winner for bar gigs, wedding bands, parties, and other basic gigs. I heard about some of the early ones having a problem with hiss - no hiss with this one. Haven't tried recording with it, so not sure about that. My Sweetwater rep, Matt, convinced me to try it and offered to make it right if it didn't work out. He has always steered me right and this was no exception.
