Add the Unique Tenor Guitar Sound to Any Project

If you have yet to play a tenor acoustic guitar, you’re in for a treat! The Gold Tone TG-10 tenor guitar produces attention-grabbing tones and an unmistakable sonic texture. It’s constructed from a durable laminate spruce top over laminated mahogany back and sides. A mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard supply effortless playability that encourages you to explore every fret. This guitar is tuned like a standard tenor banjo to encourage chord-melody-style playing. Whether you’re a guitar player by trade or a banjo player looking to add another sound to your arsenal, the Gold Tone TG-10 tenor acoustic guitar is a great choice.

Tailor-made for folk, country, and Americana music

Adding a tenor guitar to your stable of instruments is a great way to inject more sonic variety into your projects. In fact, tenor guitars like the Gold Tone TG-10 have enjoyed a place in jazz, country, and American folk music. The tenor’s unique voice layers exceptionally well with its 6-string brethren, adding extra texture to any mix. Plus, the tenor guitar is commonly tuned to CGDA, allowing banjoists to double on the tenor guitar in a familiar tuning.

Durable laminate construction

Gold Tone built the TG-10 tenor guitar with a laminated spruce top over laminated mahogany back and sides. Mahogany is known for its warm midrange sound and smooth resonance. And when you add in the spruce top, this guitar produces classic tones that fit into any playing style. Laminated tonewoods are also exceptionally resistant to humidity-related damage, so you can travel anywhere without worrying about top and side cracks. By using laminated tonewoods for the body, Gold Tone ensures that the TG-10 tenor guitar will last for many years to come.

Patented Zero Glide nut system

The TG-10 tenor acoustic guitar ships with Gold Tone’s patented Zero Glide nut. This revolutionary system combines a traditional guitar nut with a removable, replaceable zero fret. It reduces the contact between the string and the nut by up to 93%. Because there’s less contact between the strings and the nut, you’ll enjoy vastly improved tuning stability. The Zero Glide system also increases the sonic consistency between the open and fretted notes. Finally, the Zero Glide system ships with three interchangeable zero frets, enabling you to fine-tune the string height.

Gold Tone TG-10 Tenor Acoustic Guitar Features:

  • Tenor acoustic guitar for chord-melody playing
  • Spruce top projects your tone with authority
  • Mahogany back and sides produce a warm tone with plenty of midrange
  • Laminated body woods boost durability and resist climate-related damage
  • Mahogany neck feels at home in your hand
  • Rosewood fingerboard and 21 frets supply easy playability
  • Zero Glide nut improves tuning stability
  • Bone saddle promotes efficient energy transfer through the bridge

Reviews

Gold Tone TG-10
This is a nice guitar for the money. However, it is all laminate. One criticism I have is regard to the published scale length of this guitar. Scale lengths for tenor guitars can range from 20 inches to as much as 24 inches and in some rare instances for plectrum tenors up to 25.5. Just a quarter inch difference can make a huge difference in what type of strings can be used and of course different tunings.
With that in mind, the published scale length of this guitar is listed as 23 inches. In fact, it is 22.75 inches. The distance to the 12th fret is 11-3/8. 11-3/8 x 2 = 22.75 inches. In fact when I measure it properly from fret side of the nut to the front of saddle, I get 22.75 inches.
Music background: All kinds of acoustic guitars, ukes, etc.
