Craft Effects-laden Performances — No Amp Required

The Yamaha TAG3 C TransAcoustic takes acoustic performance to a whole new level with built-in reverb, chorus, and delay effects and a built-in looper — no external amplification required. And it’s a top-quality instrument to boot, boasting all-solid-wood construction with a Sitka spruce top and a mahogany back and sides. You’ll revel in the powerful projection of the TAG3 C’s dreadnought-style body, which includes a Venetian cutaway for effortless upper-fret access. You also get a comfortable mahogany neck and an easy-playing ebony fingerboard. Other cutting-edge features include a straightforward control set, a tap sensor, and Bluetooth. You also get TransAcoustic System76 electronics to plug in onstage. The Yamaha TAG3 C TransAcoustic is unique; it offers a self-contained, immersive playing experience that you can take anywhere.

Unamplified effects and more

Yamaha’s groundbreaking TransAcoustic technology delivers onboard reverb, chorus, and delay effects. What sets TransAcoustic guitars apart from other instruments with onboard effects is that they don’t require any external amplification. You also get a built-in looper, enabling you to craft intricate, layered performances right from your instrument. Engage the looper and effects via the simple-to-use controls, and you’ll be able to deliver immersive, ambient performances — no amp or PA required. And when it’s time for the gig, you can access those same stellar tones plugged in, thanks to the guitar’s state-of-the-art TransAcoustic System76 electronics.

How it works

The key to the TransAcoustic is an integrated actuator, a small device hidden inside the guitar. The vibration of the instrument’s strings causes the actuator to vibrate; these vibrations are transmitted to the guitar body and the air around the guitar. The result is authentic reverb and chorus — without the need for any additional amplification or effects.

Top-notch build quality

While it’s easy to get distracted by the TAG3 C TransAcoustic’s cutting-edge electronics, here at Sweetwater, we’re equally as impressed by its exemplary build quality. You’ll delight in the direct, punchy tone and expansive dynamic yielded by this acoustic-electric guitar’s solid Sitka spruce top, which is reinforced by a solid mahogany back and sides. The TAG3 C’s mahogany neck offers incredible playing comfort that is matched by a smooth, easy-playing ebony fingerboard. You also get outstanding volume and projection by virtue of this guitar’s dreadnought-style body. Finally, an elegant Venetian cutaway provides easy access to the guitar’s entire fretboard.

Great guitar & built-in effects
A very good sounding guitar even with the effects turned off. With effects on it's a dream. I had no adhesive on the plastic dial that points out the various digital functions. I don't think you really want to remove this anyway as without it you would have to remember all the settings and which dial does what. So to me it's a keeper and in no way looks bad or creates a problem. But again there was no adhesive attaching it to the guitar itself. It's actually a plastic tab pressure fitted around the dials. A wonderful guitar to write songs and impress people with. I love it. You will too. It's a bit heavier than a conventional guitar.

Yamaha changed their game
No complaints: It plays like my Martin sounds and looks better than my Taylor and the looper and built in features draw me like a moth to a flame
I debated whether or not to get one but Trust me when I say you wont be disappointed.
Sweetwater did a fantastic job setting it up and packing it securely for shipping.
It arrived in Good shape and has become my Go to guitar for practice and just all around fun. Shout out to Brandon for being a great sales engineer and taking geat care of me.

Pretty Guitar Subpar Service
The guitar from the manufacturer itself is beautiful. However they left the sticker around the sound hole for me to remove on my own. It's left a nasty adhesive on the finish. I'm having to go out of my way to purchase a solvent and micro fiber rags to clean it off. Which isn't acceptable for a brand new guitar.

I didn't receive Sweetwaters signature thank you note or candy. And I came to find out other customers in line for the same guitar received a 12% discount, where as I was denied a discount, because I was told they don't give discounts on pre orders.

The sales rep did at least call me to tell me my guitar came in.

Over all I'm honestly not thrilled with this purchase and I think I may shop locally next time.
