Recognizable Style and Sound — at a Friendly Price!

Reliable construction materials, iconic design elements, and an affordable price point make the Squier Sonic Stratocaster one of the most popular first instrument picks around Sweetwater. Fit with a trio of ceramic single-coil pickups, a traditional 6-saddle tremolo, and a smooth-playing satin-finished neck, players will be as close as it gets to genuine Strat playability while benefiting from an assemblage of beginner-friendly features. Apart from providing charming good looks, this guitar’s S-style body shape and conventional bolt-on maple neck provide a solid playing foundation and reliable construction that will endure countless hours of use. Additionally, the Squier Sonic Stratocaster’s onboard control set encourages players to scratch every surface of potential guitar tone, proving a valuable asset no matter which play style you prefer. When making your first guitar decision, there’s something to be said about going with a timeless classic — reach for the stars with a Squier Sonic Stratocaster!

Authentic, reliable solidbody construction

The Squier Sonic Stratocaster bears the look and feel of a recognizable axe classic. Given its S-style poplar body, you’ll have no problem extracting rich guitar tones while maintaining comfortable positioning. Additionally, its satin-finished maple neck with a “C”-shape profile creates a smooth playing surface that, when paired with the body’s cutaway shape, grants easy access to all 21 frets. Finalized with durable chrome hardware, die-cast tuning machines, and an eye-catching gloss finish, the Squier Sonic Stratocaster makes a worthy addition to any musician’s instrument arsenal.

Triple ceramic pickups with versatile controls

Although the Stratocaster is famously known for its distinct high-end chime, the three ceramic single-coil pickups in this Squier Sonic can produce a bevy of potential guitar tones. You’ll also find a master volume, two tone knobs, and a 5-way pickup selector switch. With this control center at hand, wavy chord progressions, articulate lead lines, and a well of other possible sounds are within your grasp. Toss in the Stratocaster’s proprietary vintage-style tremolo, and you’ll be serving expressive warbles and surf-inspired pitch bends in no time.

Squier Sonic Series: suitable selections for emerging guitarists

Ask any Sweetwater musician: whether you’re searching for your first instrument or a more affordable guitar option, Squier’s Sonic Series should be at the top of the list. Options ranging from classic Stratocasters to beefy Precision basses provide beginner musicians with all the essentials required to start their audial journey — without sacrificing sound quality. Likewise, a new, expanded library of color options and body styles ensures every musician can access the perfect instrument. Topped off with the same durable build and tonal capabilities as every other Squier instrument, the Sonic Series provides years of reliable and authentic performance to any player.

It's A Fine Guitar For The Price

I read the 1 star review and figured I should write a review also. I'm not experienced by any means and am probably a below average player, but I have fun. I also own an Epiphone Les Paul and a Squire Telecaster. This is a $ guitar, so what are you expecting? It's perfectly fine for a beginner or less experienced player. I wouldn't sound any better on a $ guitar. I put on new strings and a new pickguard and I really like the look and sound. So I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Buyer Beware Do NOT Buy

I wish I could send this back! The nut across ALL strings was cut way too low. You couldn't get .008 under the 1st fret. Sweetwater sent a replacement Graph Tech nut & it is .006 unsized so I to shim it going from body to neck. The original nut was .134 & Graph Tech is .128. The fretboard was sanded incorrect & can NOT be set dead flat no matter how much you mess with the trussrod. From the 15th fret to the 21st it slowly increases to .032 of a gap. That is 1/32"! There is ONLY a 1 way trussrod. Cheaper guitars for less money give a 2 way trussrod! The frets are so bad there is fret buzz everywhere & the notes choke out. The body is ONLY 1-1/2" & the routing is rough! The blade style switch will NOT fit without routing the body out. Cheap small pots with the circuit board 5 way switch. Everything was loose & had to be tighten. The pickguard had to be filed 1/16" wide & 1/32" height to fit aftermarket pickups. There was a QC sticker which made me laugh! Do NOT buy or you'll regret it!
