A Nashville-style Axe from Another Dimension

The Squier Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster is unlike any instrument you've seen — or played — before. This unique-looking electric guitar is built around a double-bound, Strat-like poplar body, with a hand-filling "C"-shaped maple neck and a slick-playing, 21-fret laurel fingerboard. You get three alnico-loaded, single-coil pickups, in a typical Nashville Tele configuration, arming you with a veritable greatest-hits package of Fender-style tones. Moreover, 5-way switching supplies access to all the requisite "in between" settings, while a push-pull tone knob engages the neck pickup in positions one and two. Whatever your application, the Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat can deliver the right tone for the job. This attention-grabbing mashup also includes a 3-ply parchment Tele-style pickguard, vintage-style tuners, a reversed Tele control plate, and a 3-saddle strings-through-body Tele bridge. Players searching for one guitar that's a jack of all tones will be absolutely delighted by the Squier Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster.

A well-appointed patchwork of parts

Squier pulled out all the stops with the Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster. For starters, it's built around a double-bound, Custom Telecaster-inspired, Strat-like body carved out of a solid hunk of poplar. The Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat includes a 3-ply parchment Tele-style pickguard and a reversed Tele control plate, along with rock-solid vintage-style tuning machines and a 3-saddle strings-through-body Tele bridge. Chrome-plated hardware and a spotlight-stealing gloss finish complete this head-turning solidbody electric guitar.

Versatile, alnico-loaded pickups

The Squier Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster comes loaded with three Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups. This guitar's bridge and neck pups deliver all the twang, bite, and snarl you'd expect from a high-quality set of Tele pickups. The third pickup expands your tonal options further, supplying you with the warm-yet-biting sound you'd get from a Strat's middle pickup. You get 5-way switching, and beyond that, a push-pull on the guitar's tone knob adds the neck pickup to positions one and two, unleashing even more sonic textures. If you're already a Tele player like many of us are here at Sweetwater, then you'll hear your guitar rig in a whole new light with the Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat.

Effortlessly playable neck

Navigating the Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster's fretboard is almost too easy. Its bolt-on maple neck boasts a comfortable "C" shape that fills your hand nicely while also staying out of your way. This guitar's laurel fingerboard features a modern-feeling 9.5-inch radius, with 21 narrow-tall frets for fleet-fingered playability and silky smooth bends. The Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat also includes a synthetic bone nut and classy pearloid dot fingerboard inlays.

Squier Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster

Build and finish are both excellent quality. Squier hit this one out of the park! I had the action set just a smidgen lower than standard. I've always wanted a Start, because we were both born in 1954, I never liked the controls on the Strat and liked Tele pups better. I saw this and had to get it. Playing it through a Vox the pups are really piercing, a twist on the tone knob and it tamed the pups down. Bridge pups have all the Tele twang you want, middle and neck are both excellent. The description tells of a S-1 switch in the tone pot, it activates the neck pup in position 1&2 works great, with the S-1 switch pushed down it just like a standard Strat 5 way switch, plus the 2 extra when the S-1 is activate(pulled up) you get 7 different pup configurations. Now then this is the reason I gave it 5 stars despite one quirky tuner, which does the job and holds tune well, I left the S-1 switch activated and ran it through positions 3-5 I hit a few chord in each positions with the S-1 switch activated and deactivated, there are 10 different sounds you get from this guitar, when the switch is off it standard sounding pups in positions 3-5, when the switch is activated in positions 3-5 they have a totally different sound a smidgen bright, however not piercing. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone.

Fun little guitar!

I mean... It's. $ guitar. It's not US made or anything like that. But man... Is it fun. I love the tone and feel of it. Played one in as local music store, and kind of craved it days later. Glad I picked one up.

This guitar punches way above it's weight! A lot of guitar for the cost.I did not have to do anything to the guitar it played fantastic right out of the box, Thanks again to my Rep Isaac Melton who has been a great help in my guitar purchases. He is a great salesman.I highly recommend this guitar and Sweetwater.

Affordable Nashville Tele Sound (even though it's technically a Strat!)

I longed after the Player Plus Nashville Tele for a couple of years, but the one I like (Sienna Sunburst) is nowhere to be found on the West Coast of Canada, and the price tag was prohibitive for a guitar I would be ordering blind. Picked up the Chocolate Sunburst here in Vancouver BC (not through Sweetwater). Great value... distinctive tones from each p/u position, looks great, etc. If you want noiseless p/u's, obviously go Fender. I prefer the hiss and scratch of the traditional Tele sound. Only knock is that the bottom string isn't completely straight. Not sure if it's where they notched the nut, or if the bridge saddle's a bit off. Not a huge deal, as it's still playable, but needed to knock a point and a half off on quality because of that. A step above the 40th anniversary line, imho. Really happy I picked it up!
