A DI for Computer Audio Output

Need to pump the audio output of your laptop through the PA, cleanly? Sweetwater has the device you need: the Radial StageBug SB-5. The StageBug SB-5 is a passive DI that takes an unbalanced stereo signal and sends it through a pair of custom-wound transformers, which balances the signal for cable runs of up to 300 feet. The transformers also isolate the source device - your computer, for instance - from the PA system, to eliminate buzz and hum due to ground loops. The unit is also fitted with a ground-lift switch.

Flexible I/O to handle any scenario

Input is via a permanently attached 5-foot, 1/8" stereo TRS cable. For output connections, you have a choice of two 1/4" TRS jacks for stereo operation or an XLR that automatically sums to mono. A 15dB pad lets you knock down hot input signals. Whether you're an AV technician or touring musician with a computer, the Radial StageBug SB-5 is a must-have tool.

Radial StageBug SB-5 Direct Box Features:
  • Stereo direct box optimized for consumer device audio
    • Ideal for computers, tablets, etc.

Excellent Solution
This awesome little box allows us to run our tracks through the FOH and out click/guide into our IEM's. Brilliant solution! So much so that we purchased another for our weekly rehearsal's to run everything into our IEM's in our practice location. Great company and products, highly recommend!

Nice little utility box
does what its designed to do, get stereo audio outputted from a 1/8" mini plug (typical headphone output) into a receiving device (P.A., mixer, e.t.c.) via two 1/4" outputs.
I bought to output tracks from my ipad to my P.A. for my solo gigs.
Works great.
Great radial quality of course.

I wish it had a dedicated volume control, but you can find others with that feature

I recommend this unit.

Fix our problems
We had a buzz coming from the computer we played music on due to a grounding issue. There would be sound coming when the computer was on or off, and you could hear the sound change when other things got plugged in or unplugged. My S.E. recommended this to fix the issue, and we have had no issues since.

Great DI - solves the problem of 3.5mm output from keyboards
Just wanted to add my recommendation of this great sounding DI from Radial. But I also wanted to point out that's it's just not for computer audio. I recently bought a Casio SDP-S350 keyboard - it has a ton (700+) of great sounds and a very responsive key-bed. But the one big drawback is that the only output is a 3.5mm stereo plug. Usually, this would be a deal breaker if you needed a "giggable" keyboard, but the Stagebug SB-5 solves this problem. I use the XLR output to feed the PA system (or recording console) and I use the 1/4" outputs to simultaneously feed my powered monitor. Problem solved. Another great product from Radia.
