A Spark Bound for the Stage

Positive Grid’s Spark series enters the big leagues with Spark LIVE, an all-in-one rig replacement for guitarists, vocalists, bassists, and keyboardists that merges modeling magic with power and projection to rival an acoustic drum kit. This compact, 150-watt combo amplifier harnesses the power of Positive Grid’s Sonic IQ technology to deliver a stage-ready punch with studio-grade sonics, all in a lightweight, rugged, and positively portable form factor. Four channels are available to accommodate sources of all kinds, with Channel 1 covering guitar, Channel 2 focusing on vocals/bass/acoustic-electric guitar, and Channels 3/4 equipped with stereo direct-ins for keyboards, computer audio, and pedalboards. Just like the rest of Positive Grid’s robust Spark ecosystem, Spark LIVE pairs with the free Spark Companion app (available on Channels 1 and 2 with eight onboard programmable presets per channel), supplying you with ultra-realistic emulations of 33 classic amp models and 43 top-class effects, in addition to tens of thousands of pro-grade presets. Did we mention the built-in Bluetooth streaming, 2 x 2 audio interface functionality, and 3-band EQ? Boasting full-range, full-power punch ready to take on any stage, the Positive Grid Spark LIVE is bound to become the centerpiece of your rig.

Note: Battery is sold separately. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer with any questions.

Sonic IQ supplies stage-ready projection

Clocking in at a fraction of the size of your typical stage-ready combo amp, the secret to Spark LIVE’s powerhouse projection lies in Positive Grid’s Sonic IQ technology. By fusing cutting-edge sonic engineering, digital signal processing, and superlative speaker optimization, Sonic IQ grants the 150-watt Spark LIVE an unprecedented size-to-volume ratio.

And while Sonic IQ certainly supercharges this combo’s power rating, a host of forward-thinking features delivers studio-grade sound quality, including dynamic response control, SPL/THD management, multiband compression, virtual bass augmentation, Auto-EQ, speaker correction, and 360-degree imaging. Finally, one of Spark LIVE’s most impressive features is found in its state-of-the-art G-Sensor. When positioned upright, the G-Sensor configures the Spark Live to punch out a mono roar with a focused edge; set the Spark LIVE on its side for a broader stereo dispersion. Best of all, the G-Sensor automatically optimizes the Spark LIVE’s EQ depending on your respective environment.

Capture endless tones via the Companion app

Complete with 33 amplifier emulations, 43 effects, and nearly endless pro-grade presets to choose from, the Spark LIVE is a tone chaser’s dream amp. It all comes from Positive Grid’s free Spark Companion app — the same app that fuels the rest of Sweetwater’s Spark series offerings, providing you with a nearly endless arsenal of sounds to explore.

The Spark LIVE’s first two channels offer seamless integration with the Spark Companion app, allowing you to choose from a vast library of professional-grade presets and then fine-tune them to taste using the Spark LIVE’s onboard 3-band EQ and intuitive control section. Channels 1 and 2 offer eight onboard presets each to save your favorite sounds for instant recall in the middle of a session or performance. Lastly, the Spark LIVE introduces a whole host of new features into the Spark Companion app, including a multichannel tone control, onboard mixer view, and fresh new effects for bass, acoustic guitar, and vocals.

A breakthrough way to practice, track, and learn music

In addition to serving as the centerpiece of your gigging rig, connecting the Spark LIVE to the free Companion app grants access to all the same practice, recording, and learning features found on the rest of Positive Grid’s cutting-edge Spark offerings.

  • Live backing tracks: Crank out a chord progression, and the Spark app will automatically accompany you with a bass guitar and drums. You don't even need to set a key or tempo — just strum and go.
  • Multitrack recording: Got a riff you want to preserve or flesh out for further working? The Spark LIVE sports a fully featured 2 x 2 audio interface that allows this stage-bound combo to double as the keystone of your recording setup.
  • Chord recognition: Import songs from your Apple Music library, YouTube, or Spotify, and the Spark app feeds you a chord chart on the fly. It's the ultimate fakebook!
  • Riff training: Having trouble tracking that "Spanish Fly" intro run at concert tempo? The Spark app lets you slow down songs and take them at your pace until you can work up to full speed.

Reviews

Fantastic
Wow Positive Grid really outdid themselves with this all in one package!!! Always loved their smaller amps, this one really rounds out the line up:) It takes bass guitar super well. It would be awesome even without the battery only option, but wow this amp is a home run:) Thanks to Chris K, always makes transactions a breeze!
Amazing
This amp is the greatest microphone amp to use during jam sessions
Awesome!
I wanted to buy this from Sweetwater but Dan Oliveri told me he can't give me a deal because I had too many returns. Ironically, I've haven't returned anything in 2 years and never since I've known him. Thanks Dan! I purchased elsewhere, with a great deal. I'm never using Sweetwater again because of him. He owes me a big apology! As far as the amp goes, it does everything you would want. I needed it for my band practice held in a very small room. It isn't loud enough to play out with in my opinion but the guitar part with apps and pedals make up for the difference. Endless capabilities here. Go for it!

110% satisfied with my purchase
I don't write reviews too often, but I was so satisfied with my purchase of the Spark Live + Spark X Foot Control + the battery I felt I had to write a review. Not to mention, Sweetwater always has the best customer service. Kyle assisted me with my order & everything went 110% perfectly smooth.

Previously, I had purchased the Positive Grid Spark (Gen 1) and have been loving that for years now. Just needed a little more power, hence the Live. Also, last Christmas, I purchased a Yamaha electric drum set for my son & have been looking into something with a little more punch as the other amps I had weren't quite up to the task.

I purchased the On-Stage tripod to mount the Live onto & that has been great as well. Really like how it props up the Live & keeps it off the ground. Plus, I purchased some mounts to clamp onto the tubing of the tripod to mount some of my other gear to it keeping everything all nice & compact/clean.

If you are ever considering purchasing anything from Positive Grid, my experience has been great with their products. They sound great, have a ton of options as far as all the different tones/sound effects you can select from. My father loved my Spark so much that he purchased one for himself + another guy at my work who has played in bands for decades purchased the Spark, Mini & the Go. He plays on stage with the Spark as the head unit going into his Marshall cabinet. Positive Grid is definitely coming out with some of the best equipment I've ever gotten the pleasure to try & at a price that is pretty decent, considering everything you get. I can only say great things about their line of amps/PA. If you've been hesitant to try them out, I hope this review helps assure you that you could probably do a lot worse, it would be difficult to do much better without spending thousands of dollars.

A Spark 2 on Steroids!
I love the Spark 2 I have, but this Spark Live is something else. It adds volume, channels and even voice effects where I love a bit of reverb. All the versatility makes this unit a fun performance unit and there is so much you can do with it it's like I'm trying to see all of a national park in one day; it will take a while to get into all the 'nooks and crannies' of what it can do. I still use the Spark 2 for recording as I like the sound a lot and don't need the extra features of the Live but the Live is now my go to for practice and, eventually, performance. I also like being able to make adjustments and changing amp emulations/effects with an app on my IPhone or IPad, just like with the Spark 2.
