Bring on the Apocalypse

The Schecter Solo-II Apocalypse was designed for extreme metal players. Its swamp ash body bears a familiar single-cut shape, enabling a resonant natural tone and long-term comfort. And when you plug it into a high-gain half stack, you’ll be bludgeoned by explosive, harmonic-laden tones, by way of this axe’s dual Apocalypse VI humbuckers. Playing the Solo-II Apocalypse is effortless, thanks to its Thin "C" neck profile and smooth, compound-radius ebony fingerboard. And its intonation is rock-solid, by virtue of a TonePros Tune-o-matic bridge and Schecter locking tuners. Eye-catching satin black hardware completes the package. The Apocalypse is nigh — bring on the Apocalypse.

Performance-based construction

When you pick up a Schecter Solo-II Apocalypse guitar, you'll be amazed by all the details and finishing touches that make up this exceptional instrument. Guitarists at Sweetwater agree that its Thin "C" neck profile feels comfortable and fast, with just the right amount of wood between your hands and the strings. And the Roman numeral inlays on its ebony fretboard add a special touch of aggression — the countdown has begun! What's more, its ultra-access, set-neck design allows easier access to those higher, hard-to-reach frets while enhancing the sustain of every note you play.

Aggressive, detailed tone

You'll find nothing but sonic intensity from the Apocalypse VI humbuckers onboard the Solo-II Apocalypse. Alnico magnets deliver a fast, aggressive sound with plenty of richness. The Alnicos are flanked by ceramic magnets for top-end presence and articulation. You'll have an explosive tone with plenty of harmonic content, giving you lots of sound-shaping potential when you tweak the tone knobs on your amplifier and pedals. It includes plenty of tonal control, by way of two volume knobs, a master tone, and a 3-way pickup selector. You also get a push-pull pot for coil-split single-coil tones.

The Apocalypse Series — extreme metal performance

Schecter's Apocalypse Series boasts extreme metal performance with an aesthetic to match. Face-melting Apocalypse humbuckers deliver the output and articulation you demand. The fast-playing ebony fingerboards on these axes include compound radii and stainless steel frets. You also get lightweight yet potently resonant swamp ash bodies and eye-popping finishes that are tailor-made for abusive stage antics. TonePros or Floyd Rose bridges and Schecter locking tuners supply rock-solid tuning. Complete with attractive satin black appointments, these guitars are top-drawer all the way.

Reviews

Fantastic! - Great Specs - Super Visual Appeal – Feels Great
Received Schecter Solo-II Apocalypse - first thing I thoroughly look it over for possible damage and defects. There was a point on the neck that felt like a grain of sand sticking out from the finish and some compound in pot wells that's it. Basically, a Beautiful guitar in Great shape as expected. Plugged her in, was nearly spot on in tuning and the intonation was perfect. Nice sound, voice is not a Tele or Strat but that's why I got her and the versatile split coil settings can get me anywhere I need to go. My concern was how it would feel in my hands. Recently sold my Gibson Les Paul Tribute because no matter how much I wanted to like it, just never felt right in my hands. After hours of research I purchased this Schecter for its specs and visual appeal. I love the feel and action of Fender Stratocasters with a C profile necks and this Schecter is as close as I've been able to get with a non-Fender Guitar. The neck is a C profile and a bit thinner than a modern C, but it feels very similar and has the same low playable action I like. The weight is lighter than a Strat (7.5 lbs.) which at my age is a positive thing and the balance felt fine to me. Does it sound like a Gibson probably not, but for me it's the hands down winner in this priced range. If I were to change anything, I'd opt for jumbo frets instead of X jumbo but they both have their pluses.

my first schecter, it won't be my last!
This is all around a great guitar, don't let the metal/shredder orgin make you think it's a one trick pony. The pickups are great sounds beautiful through clean, low gain or high gain. I don't think I will ever be a good enough musician to ever out grow any of my guitars if you take your time to learn them and their pickups sweet spots for different gain/effects you can play any style your skill is capable of. This guitar is no different I believe a competent musician could use this for any genre they choose. The look of this guitar is amazing not over the top flashy but not to dark either and the Roman numeral fret inlays give it a unique look. This is also one of the most comfortable guitars I have ever played while sitting for extended periods the body contours and relief just fit right. Schecter killed it on this one!
Everyone Gets a SOLO 2
This is my 3rd Solo II, all 3 have there own sonic space, all three play flawlessly. The Apocalypse holds it's own space with very hot gritty yet wet and creamy pickups and cleans up nice in single coil mode. The feel of the neck is a little beefy despite it being a thin C this is due to the way the black binding increases the width very slightly. it feels very close to the neck feel you get from a Gibson with nibs. If you like thin straps you may find it's a tad neck heavy, I use wider straps and have no issues with neck dive. A great guitar with a great price, it holds it own against guitars at 3 time the price.

Wow! Schecter really outdid themselves
I am a Gibson Les Paul player. I took a chance and ordered this beautiful guitar. When it arrived and I opened it... Pictures do not do it justice. The look of this guitar is striking. Now the important stuff. The feel of this beauty in my hands was fantastic. I was worried about the thinner neck but it is super comfortable. When I plugged it in it was the best sounding guitar I've heard. The pickups are super aggressive which made playing with distortion and overdrive even more fun than usual. I still like my Les Paul for clean tones but this baby cleans up nice. That really surprised me, and with the coil split ability you can get some nice chime like sounds similar to a strat. I knew Schecter made some nice guitars. Dare I say it This guitar is better than my Les Paul. I got a new #1 guitar. Big Thank You to my sales Rep. Conner!

Smooth and comfortable
I've had this guitar for about a month now and it's the best playing guitar I've ever owned. It's comfortable, no neck dive, and sounds incredible. I play extreme metal and it's effortless and smooth. Not to mention, the finish is gorgeous. If you're thinking about it, you won't be disappointed. Nice job Schecter.
