Striking Visuals, Stellar Tone, Endless Playability

Schecter’s Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic HT combines resonant and durable tonewoods with professional-quality electronics to form an axe destined to be a classic S-style electric guitar for the ages. The black limba body’s stunning coloring and wood grain pattern on the Super Shredder make this solidbody electric guitar a spotlight-stealing stage delight that will make any front man a tad envious. The gorgeous wenge neck is cut to a Thin “C” profile and is capped with an ebony fingerboard — perfect for blistering single-note runs and fiery solos across all 24 extra-jumbo frets. Schecter USA Sunset Strip and Pasadena humbuckers drive the tone of this heavy hitter, letting you dial up thick, defined ’bucker tone that will melt the back row. A Hipshot Ibby HM bridge — a favorite bridge here at Sweetwater — provides stellar sustain and tuning support, giving you the peace of mind you need when you really dig in.

Exotic wood combo for beautiful resonance and unwavering durability

The Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic HT is a show stopper, but it’s not just about the looks. Black limba is a tonewood that continues to win over legions of players with a brighter, more open sound than its close cousin, mahogany. And then there’s the wenge neck. Though considered an exotic wood, wenge has quickly made its way into the builds of many of today’s most reputable boutique manufacturers thanks to its bell-like sound, tough-as-nails durability, and incredible hand feel. Rounding out this axe is a tried-and-true ebony fingerboard, imbuing this 6-string with the tonewood’s trademark glassy feel and effortless playability.

Scorching-hot pickups and high-quality hardware

A guitar named “Super Shredder” requires some seriously scorching pickups. Thankfully, Schecter’s Sunset Strip and Pasadena pickups more than deliver. The Sunset Strip bridge humbucker is a perfect storm of aggression, output, and sustain that utilizes a ceramic magnet to increase the dynamics and compression for cutting cleanly through mixes. Likened to a cross between a Seymour Duncan JB and ’59, the Pasadena neck humbucker is slightly overwound for additional output and unmistakable PAF-style tone.

Thin “C” neck profile geared for lightning-fast licks

Pick up the Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic HT, and you’ll instantly experience extreme playing comfort from Schecter’s Thin “C” neck carve. This super-slim neck profile provides you with a major speed boost, making this electric guitar an ideal choice for any aggressive playing style. And with the guitar’s double-cut body design, you’ll have no trouble reaching those high frets. Notwithstanding its slender profile, this neck gives you the dependable stability you demand, thanks to its bolt-on construction. Top it with a fast-playing compound-radius fingerboard — complete with awesome offset/reverse circle inlays — and you’re in frettin’ heaven.

Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic HT Features:

  • Black limba body that exudes warmth, brightness, and an open tone
  • Bolt-on wenge neck that enhances durability and sustain
  • Thin “C” neck carve and silky-smooth ebony fingerboard for effortless, speedy playing
  • Schecter Sunset Strip and Pasadena humbuckers
  • Hipshot Ibby HM bridge for stellar sustain and tuning support

An Incredible 5 Star Instrument in Every Way, Simply Top Shelf and Very Unique in Many Ways
I have had this guitar for about a month and love it in every way you can love an instrument. The things plays great, sounds great, looks great, and inspires lots of original music for me (my main objective). I made a video on my music and gear review channel (link in this review) that shows it in full sunlight and covers all my thoughts on it. So happy I made this purchase! As usual, great experience shopping with Sweetwater.

Probably the best guitar available sub £2500 IMO!!!
. This guitar is an absolute monster if you want to 'core it up or shred like a madman. The pickups are so tight and the clarity is fantastic that means chugging is easily possible also if you're a djent guy and are worried about the pickups not being hot enough, they will definitely be hot enough. The almost P90 in a middle setting sound you get from position 4 is super usable, even for rhythm, and especially when do you're doing metal/post hardcore clean parts and clean pre-breakdown parts etc. I love everything about it. Every appointment, the woods used look and feel so so expensive, and the high mass bridge from hipshot is the best bridge I've had for the most comfortable palm muting, extra harmonics and more overtones I've not heard from a 'normal bridge' , and also for the sustain that seems to ring out forever thanks to the weighty brass plate it has in it. Just a 1 of a kind guitar that feels like my own custom as it's not often seen due to limited production amounts from Korea.

** rough average output.

Open pore satin finish. Still feel the wood grain, especially on the super strong carbon reinforced Wenge neck (which is super hard, harder than rock maple already), the grain feels amazing, very nice, higher end feel all round.

Like a guitar 3 times it's price. Genuinely incredible, and beautiful. A beautiful beast.
Yep, you should buy it
I'm a Yamaha Pacifica (from the mid 90's) kind of person. Not a Fender guy. I tried Fenders and just couldn't fall in love with them. This guitar is as advertised and seems to fit the pricing pretty well. It's unique, it feels great, it's well balanced and YES you will most likely need to get it "setup" by Sweetwater or your local guitar shop. For this much money, you might as well spend another 50-100 bucks getting a professional to dial it in. I had to tighten the truss rod, raise the neck pickup quite a bit and lower the action. I may need to slightly file down the lower part of the jumbo frets to make moving around more comfortable as well. BUT do NOT let that turn you away from this guitar because I feel like any guitar I buy online will require a bit of setup these days. Definitely worth a try and you'll probably know within the first 30 minutes if the guitar is a keeper. Palm mutes are super comfortable and the pickups are very good. The top fret dots are slightly larger than usual which is PERFECT for those darkly lit shows. Very much looking forward to making this my main guitar as I put more hours on it and learn how it handles itself in the long run. Really wish it came with a case to make it "feel" more expensive upon opening the shipping box.

Great Instrument...not just a shredder
Picked up one that was a demo. I am enamored with the look, feel, and tones from this guitar. I don't consider myself a "shredder". I play in a jam-band and was looking for something with PAFs that stays in-tune and plays great.

I considered a PRS, but the looks of this natural black Limba and my previous experience with Schecter guitars swung me towards this guitar.

The neck is slim, but not tiny. The compound radii makes runs up the fretboard natural and fast. The pickups are balanced and rich...solid lows, and pick-squealing highs in all positions with a mid-focused bark. The jumbo ss frets were dressed well and fretwork is great. The hardware, switches, and knobs are all quality.

I did have to set up the guitar. It was a demo and the guitar was not intonated right. I don't know what the demo person was doing exactly... the pickup height needed to be adjusted a bit. The nut needed a little work on the bass side but in 40 minutes or so, I had it dialed for my standard 11-50 strings I use on all my electrics.

The fit and finish are about perfect. Easily sounds and plays like a $2000 guitar.

Very pleased overall. Would be a full 5 star except for the setup issues.

Fantastic Guitar and High Quality!!!
The neck is a thin profile and very fast feeling. And every note is clean through all 24 frets. The hardtail stays in tune with no issues and the pickups allow it to growl. The weight is very comfortable and the body is smooth.
Love it!!!
