Striking Visuals, Stellar Tone, Endless Playability

Schecter's Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic FR combines resonant and durable tonewoods with professional-quality electronics and a classic tremolo system to form an axe destined to be a Superstrat for the ages. The choice of striking black limba for the body and ziricote for the top gives this guitar a look that is sure to turn heads, not to mention ears with its musical and robust sound. The Thin "C" wenge neck capped with an ebony fingerboard is a delight, perfect for blistering single-note runs and fiery solos across all 24 extra-jumbo frets. Schecter's high-quality Sunset Strip and Pasadena humbuckers handle practically any genre and playing style imaginable. A Floyd Rose trem and Grover Rotomatic tuners round out the feature set on this powerhouse guitar.

Exotic wood combo for beautiful resonance and unwavering durability

The Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic's sharp looks aren't just for show. At its core sits a black limba body topped with ziricote, comparable to the more common mahogany but with a brighter, more open sound. Though considered an exotic wood, wenge has quickly made its way into the builds of many of today's most reputable boutique manufacturers thanks to its bell-like sound, tough-as-nails durability, and incredible hand feel. Rounding out this axe is a tried-and-true ebony fingerboard, imbuing this 6-string with the tonewood's trademark glassy feel and effortless playability.

Scorching-hot pickups and high-quality hardware

An instrument named "Super Shredder" requires some seriously scorching pickups. Thankfully, Schecter's Sunset Strip and Pasadena pickups more than deliver. The Sunset Strip bridge humbucker is a perfect storm of aggression, output, and sustain, utilizing a ceramic magnet to increase the dynamics and compression for cutting cleanly through mixes. Likened to a cross between a Seymour Duncan JB and '59, the Pasadena neck humbucker is slightly overwound for additional output and unmistakable PAF-style tone. Throw in a highly expressive Floyd Rose locking tremolo for deep-sea dives and whammy wails, and the Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic is at the top of Sweetwater guitarists' lists of ideal single-guitar solutions for the concert stage.

Thin "C" neck profile geared for lightning-fast licks

Pick up the Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic, and you'll experience extreme playing comfort, courtesy of Schecter's Thin "C" neck carve. This super-slim neck profile provides you with a major speed boost, making this axe an ideal choice for any aggressive playing style. And with the guitar's double-cut body design, you'll have no trouble reaching those high frets. Notwithstanding its slender profile, this neck gives you the dependable stability you demand, thanks to its bolt-on construction. Top it with a fast-playing compound-radius fingerboard — complete with awesome offset/reverse circles — and you're in frettin' heaven.

Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic FR Electric Guitar Features:

  • Black limba body with ziricote top exudes warmth, brightness, and an open tone
  • Bolt-on wenge neck greatly enhances durability and sustain
  • Effortless, speedy playing thanks to a Thin "C" neck carve and silky-smooth ebony fingerboard
  • Schecter Sunset Strip and Pasadena Humbuckers scream and sing
  • Floyd Rose tremolo with Grover Rotomatic tuners makes for beautifully expressive playing and rock-solid tuning stability

Reviews

Impeccable workmanship and great sounds
There are many awesome guitars, but only a small fraction of them are affordable for players, who are not regular and successful bank robbers. I really like the Schecter Super Shredders and it is no accident that I have three of them (see the attached picture). They share the following features: 1) fast-playing and very comfortable necks with 24 stainless steel frets, 2) well-working Floyds and 3) great-sounding pickups. The superb features of my new ("Natural Ziricote") Super Shredder (the utmost right guitar in the picture), i.e., its first-class playability, outstanding pickup sounds, impeccable workmanship and cool looks are second to none! It's very difficult to find such a high-quality guitar in this price range.

Great, versatile guitar!
Pros:
Looks awesome, red/orange stain on the black limba body looks great. The black wenge neck looks great and the luminlay side dots really "pop" against the black neck wood.
Pick ups sound great, very clear and versatile. All 5 pick up positions sound unique, no drop off in output that you get from some coil splits in other guitars.
Floyd rose stays in tune well.
Neck feels incredible, very porous wood, you can kind of feel little "cracks" in the wood, strange at first but quickly adjust to it. Very fast and smooth.
Compound radius, stainless steel frets and off set ring inlays all look and feel great.
Very comfortable, smooth, easy to play, sounds great clean or with heavy distortion.

Cons:
I got a lighter one (under 8lbs) but they can run heavier if that's a concern for you.
Mine arrived with a small, aesthetic ding on the top body from shipping so I think the top wood is a little soft. Not a big enough problem to return since I love the guitar so much though.
