A Loud Mic That Can Take the Heat

For capturing louder sound sources, Behringer’s SL 75C dynamic cardioid microphone is tough to beat. It’s a dynamic mic with a cardioid polar pattern, so it has excellent sound isolation and protection against feedback, plus a built-in pop/wind filter that reduces vocal plosives as well. While the SL 75C has an ample frequency range, Sweetwater music producers compliment this mic for capturing voice, guitars, and other instruments with plentiful mids. However, no matter what you choose to record with it, you’ll get high signal output plus integrity courtesy of the SL 75C’s 3-pin XLR connector, plus low handling noise from its shockmount system. Finally, as the Behringer SL 75C comes with a mic clip and mic stand adapter, you’ll be ready to rock as soon as you finish opening its (also included) impact-resistant carrying case.

Behringer SL 75C Dynamic Cardioid Microphone Features:

  • Dynamic microphone with a cardioid polar pattern for great off-axis rejection
  • Buttery sound complements voice, guitars, and other mid-heavy sound sources
  • High signal output plus signal integrity from XLR 3-pin connector
  • Built-in pop and wind filter block plosives and other noise
  • Shockmount system reduces noise while handling
  • Comes with its own impact-resistant carrying case plus a mic clip and mic stand adapter

Reviews

Absolutely on par with a sm57
I've bought three of these and ran them in a blind test with my Shure SM57, their completely indistinguishable from eachother. Fantastic workhorse mic that won't kill your wallet if it disappears at a live show
For a 13 dollar mic, not bad
No problems yet, good quality, nice weight.
Project Studio
The other reviewer said they received a couple of these that wouldn't pass audio and another that the plastic guard/screen fell off. A bad batch maybe? I have 7 of these and one them the guard/screen fell off also but they're easily re-attached with silicone adhesive. As far as not passing audio all of mine work great and sound great. They have a slight rise in the mid to high end and sound great on acoustic guitars, guitar cabs, drums, they even sound good on cymbals/high hats, but I normally use condensers on the cymbals. They really are nice mics. Did a side by side comparison with an SM57 and there's a difference and I think the SL75c's are a little hotter. If you can't afford the SM57s then get some of these, they don't disappoint, at least I'm not disappointed.

Great on the cheap
I got a couple because they were like no money, and it's handy to have a few cheap and cheerful dynamics.

They sound similar to the 57. I've never liked 57s because I think they're boxy sounding. These are less boxy. So, I like them more than I do a 57. Are they as tough? Doubt it. I wouldn't mic drums with them. I just mess around at home and they don't get beat on, so whatever. They sound fine and record whatever I put in front of them well enough.

It's a microphone...
We got four, one of them the guard came off after a month, one doesn't pass audio, and they sound reallyyyy bad. They are exactly what you would expect from a $ mic so I guess that's a plus
