Legendary Santana Tone for a Steal

Few guitarists on the planet claim a tone as immediately recognizable as Carlos Santana's — and his signature PRS electric guitars are a huge part of delivering that iconic sound. With this PRS SE Santana, you've got all access to coveted smooth Santana tone. But modest price point aside, the SE Santana promises top-tier construction around every curve, emphasized by a maple-topped solid mahogany body, a Wide Fat neck profile, and a rosewood fingerboard with those legendary bird inlays that instill incomparable PRS quality for all to see. Voiced by a pair of Santana "S" humbucking pickups, this axe nails the tonal character that's skyrocketed Santana's sound to the top of the lists of countless guitarists worldwide — including many here at Sweetwater. And with a patented PRS tuning machine set and tremolo to accompany, you'll conjure black guitar magic onstage with complete confidence.

PRS-quality construction and hardware

The all-mahogany body of the SE Santana gives you warm, detailed tones that make your music jump out of the guitar. The SE Santana's mahogany neck has a wide-fat carve, making it very comfortable for players who prefer a vintage feel. And the distinctive neck joint means you can reach all 24 frets easily for stellar high-fret access. The hardware is, as always, very stable and dependable. Take it from Sweetwater — you can count on the PRS-designed tremolo bridge and tuners to keep the SE Santana in tune while allowing you to express yourself at home, onstage, or in the studio.

High-class yet subtle appearance

This PRS SE Santana displays its mahogany construction proudly through its stunning translucent finish, the wood grain assuring you of the natural tones that are to come. Around the perimeter of this guitar, you'll find binding that sets the top and back of the guitar apart in a truly artistic manner. As your eyes move up the SE Santana's rosewood fingerboard, you'll find the company's iconic birds in flight inlaid in beautiful mother-of-pearl. And Paul Reed Smith's signature adorns the headstock to complete this guitar's exquisite look.

PRS-designed Santana "S" humbucking pickups

Whether you're going for those fluid tones of Carlos Santana or working on your own melodic stylings, the PRS-designed Santana "S" humbucking pickups loaded in this solidbody electric guitar make exploration of sound a joy. These pickups have been poured over by PRS and Carlos to get as close as possible to the US-made humbuckers Santana uses. You'll be able to enjoy the same levels of tonal detail, sustain, and thickness that have made Santana a legend.

Butter Fingers

First off I am NO guitar hero. I am a below average player, I'm actually a long time vocalist. What I do love is that Carlos Santana sound. This PRS takes you a long way toward capturing that timeless tone. The guitar neck is smooth as butter, the profile & weight make it very comfortable to play. It stays in tune for hours on end. Using the many plug-ins contained in today's DAW's I am caprturing a lot of the sounds I've been looking for...for a long time. When I pick this guitar up in my little basement studio; its 3-4 hour before I put it back in the case. Visually the guitar is stunning, the glassy finish is amazing under your hands. I also love the bird inlays on the neck, your brain very quickly memorizes where you on the neck which adds to the playablility of this instrument. Bending notes on this guitar is a pleasure instead of a job. It does not fight you to play it. I could not have dreamed up a nicer guitar if I tried. for $ You can't beat it. Thank you PRS & Sweetwater. Happy customer over here!

Great Guitar For the Money
This is a wonderful guitar to play and it definitely has those Santana tone. I did upgrade the pickups to a Duncan Jazz in the neck and a SH-4 JB in the bridge. Definitely better than the stocks.
PRS Gold!
I bought this guitar about a month ago and it is one of my favorite guitars. I had it pleked and I am happy with the plek job. The pickups on here are good, but later I will put some Seymour Duncan hot rodded pickups. This is one of the best guitars I ever bought. Maybe my #1!
Music background: Finger style, blues
Absolutely amazing guitar
This my 2nd PRS guitar. I bought a custom 24-08 quilt top about a year ago. And it became my favorite almost immediately. Since then I purchased a new Gibson custom LP: just could not get the sound I've been searching for. So I mainly play the Custom 24-08 due to the quality tones it's capable of. Still something was missing. After watching countless YouTube videos of PRS GUITARS I decided to get the Santana SE. and I'm sure Glad I did ! Right out of the box this guitar exploded with the rich tone I've searched for. I have an array of pedals I've tried trying to get the tone this guitar delivers nothing more than a vintage overdrive through my PRS DGT15 amp. The Santana SE IS THE MOST UNDERRATED guitar in the SE lineup. You won't be disappointed.
Music background: I’m a 71 year old musician the grew up on some of the best rock music of all time.
Great upgrade
I've been playing for a few years and was looking to upgrade. For me, as a beginner it feels drastically better and smooth. I think it has a great sound and color. I think it was worth the price and I'm happy with my purchase.
Music background: Beginner/Intermediate
