Despite being full humbuckers, the TCI “S” set captures elements of single-coil and soapbar-style pickups — lows are rich but tight, and highs sing beautifully without any harshness. When used as humbuckers, the output is clear with a slight edge that distinguishes the SE Custom 24-08 Quilt from the rest of the mix. Splitting the TCI “S” pickups takes that single-coil sound to new dimensions, capable of funky rhythm tones and bluesy leads.
