The Premier Sights and Sounds of ’59

Guitarists will be absolutely bowled over by the comfortable weight and feel of the Eastman SB59 Solidbody's familiar single-cut, hourglass-shaped, and maple-capped mahogany body. A matching mahogany neck comes shaped to Eastman’s standard Traditional Even “C” profile for a universally pleasant grip, topped with 22 frets of luscious ebony and marked by absolutely classic ivoroid pearl crowns. This 6-string comes voiced with two ’59 humbuckers by Seymour Duncan, laden with vintage snarl and full-bodied harmonic musicality. As you might expect, the SB59 Solidbody also provides dual Volume and Tone controls for the utmost precision in defining the character of your humbuckers. To boot, rock-steady hardware by Gotoh, including a GE-1048 bridge, GE101A stop tailpiece, and traditional SD90 tuners ensure flawless performance in total style every time out. Nail those unmistakably ’59 sights and sounds with the SB59 Solidbody at your side!

Rich, resonant, and lightweight build

Contrary to common encounters with guitars of similar builds, the SB59 Solidbody is actually a lot lighter than it looks. A single piece of feathery handcrafted mahogany establishes a rich and resonant foundation, coming capped with a solid carved maple top for a natural wood build that’s balanced in tone and won’t do a number on your shoulder. Eastman’s trademark Traditional Even “C” profile shapes the equally lightweight and resonant mahogany neck, providing effortless control for palms of all sizes. A 22-fret ebony fingerboard ties a bow on the tonewood combo of the SB59 Solidbody, offering unwavering note integrity and a smooth surface for unleashing blues, rock, and metal solos and riffage.

’59 humbuckers by Seymour Duncan

To channel that gorgeous ’59 PAF sound, Eastman fittingly injected the SB59 Solidbody with a pair of Seymour Duncan ’59 humbuckers. These alnico V bar magnet beauties unleash exceptionally warm vintage output and a timeless growl that delivers an impressive degree of top-end brilliance and compression to slide into any rock or blues mix with smooth, full-bodied lushness. And just like any proper PAF-fitted axe, the SB59 Solidbody comes arrayed with per-pickup Volume and Tone controls, affording players total freedom to dial in their favorite tonal blend with ease. Ask any guitarist here at Sweetwater — this setup is the real deal!

Dashing dependability

The SB59 Solidbody performs with phenomenal stability, and looks darn good doing it! Paving the way is an assortment of steadfast hardware by Gotoh, such as a GE-1048 bridge and GE101A stop tailpiece combination that anchors your playing down at the body end with staggering steadiness and intonation control. Aiding in this effort is a set of handsome SD90 sealed-back tuning machines, donning those traditional trapezoidal tuning peg buttons for a little bit of period-correct flare. Such charming details abound throughout SB59 Solidbody, including ivoroid pearl crown inlays and body binding with a quartet of gorgeously classic amber bell knobs. From the rehearsal halls and small gigs to the main stage, count on the SB59 Solidbody to turn some heads and ears.

Reviews

A great guitar!
This is my second Eastman and I'm thoroughly impressed with it. My first one was a T484 and it's the most perfect out of the box guitar I've ever seen of the many I've purchased. I was so blown away by it that I decided to get this SB59 in the gorgeous sunburst color. I did have to have the output jack repaired by my guitar tech because it was not installed correctly and would not fully accept a cable. I also had to polish out a few little scuffs and hazing that was likely left over from the polishing at the factory. Minor issues so no biggie. This guitar looks great, feels great, and sounds great. Can't ask for more than that. I'm still a Gibson Les Paul guy, but I would not hesitate to buy another Eastman or recommend one to someone looking for a great guitar.
Professional grade instument that rocks right out of the box
Ebony fretboard, perfectly finished fret ends, bone nut, SD 59 pickups, beautiful flamed maple top, one piece mahogany body, yes I know, it is all in the description of the guitar on the website, but the quality of how it is all put together and how it feels in your hands way surpasses the sum of the components, and it sounds fantastic.
I owned a number of high-end guitars over the past 45 years, some of which were custom shop (Les Pauls, PRS, Suhr etc.) and the finish on this guitar is up there with the best of them. I am not easily impressed, and I usually don't write reviews but this time I feel compelled to do so, this one is a keeper.
Thank you, Sweetwater, for always delivering high quality products and thank you to my sales rep Joey Marano for always making sure everything is perfectly packed and shipped fast.
