Performance Meets PRS Perfection
PRS takes the concept of the 3-pickup, jack-of-all-trades guitar to the next level with the S2 Studio. This model carries all the signatures that make a PRS a truly detail-oriented, awe-inspiring instrument: a contoured mahogany body with a stunning figured maple top, a Pattern Regular mahogany neck, and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. However, the S2 Studio offers a menu of tantalizing tones courtesy of USA Narrowfield pickups in the neck and middle positions and a 58/15 LT treble pickup. Meanwhile, the rock-solid PRS tremolo offers maximum tonal expression, complemented by Phase III tuners and Wing buttons straight from the company’s Core line. With its tonal versatility, exceptional playability, and striking aesthetics, you'll find the S2 Studio isn’t just built to perform — it’s designed to inspire, making it a standout choice for players who demand both sonic excellence and visual flair.

First-class PRS appointments
The exceptional pride PRS takes in its guitars is evident in every detail of the S2 Studio. Take its PRS patented tremolo, for example. This superior, time-tested design gives you intonation and tuning stability on par with a hardtail bridge while also equipping you with the expressive capabilities of a traditional vibrato. Beyond that, this tremolo transfers every vibrational nuance from your strings to the guitar’s wood. The ultra-thin, high-gloss nitrocellulose finish ensures every vibration the S2 Studio feels resonates properly. Lastly, Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons further reinforce your overall tuning stability, offering you the peace of mind needed to last through the entire gig with confidence.

A sonic arsenal under your command
The PRS S2 Studio is all about tonal dexterity, thanks to its complement of proprietary PRS pickups. The Narrowfield, deployed in the neck and middle positions of the S2 Studio, is a remarkable pickup that delivers the best characteristics of a humbucker, a P-90, a traditional single-coil, and a mini humbucker. Technically, the Narrowfield’s dual coils classify it as a humbucking design, while its svelte form factor is reminiscent of a mini humbucker (with which, perhaps not surprisingly, it shares certain tonal characteristics). Mini humbuckers — especially in the neck position — have long been prized for their ability to maintain clarity in overdrive conditions while bucking the hum.
Stationed at the bridge is a 58/15 LT, which produces a rich, organic vintage tone — the warm and clear sonic elixir that propelled this pickup to the top of many guitarists’ favorite PAF-style humbucker lists. The 58/15 LT is incredibly versatile and cleans up nicely when you roll back your guitar’s volume control. Cranked through a good tube amp, the 58/15 LT can produce raging overdrive with fat, snarling tone that nevertheless maintains crystalline note separation within chords. With the Tone control pulled up, the 58/15 LT adds a chiming single-coil presence with extra clarity — and pairs well with Narrowfield middle pickup.
Pattern Regular neck
Players who prefer a more traditional 22-fret experience will feel at home with the S2 Studio’s Pattern Regular neck profile. The Pattern Regular neck offers a natural fit with the curvature of your fret hand for comfortable chord playing and thumb-over-neck playing styles, yet is still thin enough to quickly adapt to your rapid-fire solo runs. The satin finish over the maple neck feels slick to the touch, enabling you to shift to any fret position unencumbered and with incredible upper fret access. Everything about the construction and playability of the S2 Studio is designed to integrate with your body to the point where you’re no longer holding a guitar — the guitar is now a part of you.
