Powerful, Tight Bass for Studio, Cinema, and Home Theaters

Looking for a world-class subwoofer? Sweetwater has a recommendation. Newly upgraded with stereo balanced XLR I/O, the Ocean Way Audio S12A MkIII Subwoofer represents the state of the art in low-frequency sound reproduction for recording studios, cinemas, and other applications where powerful, tight bass enhances your listening experience. Designed by multiple Grammy-winning engineer/producer and iconic studio owner Allen Sides, the S12A MkIII is equally adept at reinforcing the deep bass in music monitoring systems as well as delivering the weapons-grade bottom end expected of modern commercial and home theater installations.

Flexible controls for easy setup

The Ocean Way Audio S12A MkIII is designed to integrate seamlessly into any music monitoring or multichannel theatrical system. Featuring stereo XLR analog inputs and outputs for flexible installation, the S12A MkIII also gives you parameter adjustments that include gain, LF and crossover adjustments, and variable delay so that you can perfectly integrate it into any audio setup. It also features a 12V trigger input/output for power conservation and other applications. The S12A MkIII’s robust 700-watt amplifier delivers ample power for a gut-pounding 114dB SPL, and multiple S12A MkIII subwoofers can be combined into a larger system such as a cinema screen channel.

Ocean Way: a legacy of unerring sonic quality

In 1976, multiple Grammy-winning recording engineer/producer Allen Sides started leasing the former United Western Studios in Hollywood, originally built in 1952 by legendary engineer/audio designer Bill Putnam. In 1988, he purchased the property and changed the name to Ocean Way Recording, and also added Record One in Sherman Oaks to the Ocean Way Family. In 1997, he opened Ocean Way Nashville on Music Row. Over the years, Sides personally worked on over 1,000 albums by top artists like Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Phil Collins, and Alanis Morissette; and it is estimated that albums recorded in Mr. Sides’s studios have sold in excess of one billion copies. Housed in a 16,000-square-foot beachfront villa at the exclusive Eden Rock Resort on the Caribbean island paradise of Saint Barthélemy, Ocean Way St. Barts was created to provide the ultimate creative environment for this level of clientele.

Mr. Sides, who had been building audiophile speakers since he was a teenager, designed the unerringly accurate monitors used in all his control rooms and provided custom designs for many of his clients’ studios. The Ocean Way brand had become synonymous with uncompromising sonic quality, and Ocean Way Audio was the next logical step, enabling studios of all sizes to avail themselves of this remarkable technology. Elevate your studio to world-class with the Ocean Way Audio S12A MkIII Subwoofer.
